My friend and co-worker Meghan and her lovely boyfriend Scott and doing this (Scott's actually doing the running) to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society and cancer research. The run starts May 1st in St. John's Newfoundland. Chazzers across Canada, come out and cheer them through your home town, if you feel so inclined they are also asking generous people to open their homes (even just for a shower and a load of laundry). It will take a total of 8+ months to acheive this.

Having just lost my father to cancer on Saturday, this post was especially poignant to me.

Kudos to Scott for taking on this challenge for such a worthy cause.

We're having a big Run to Live fundraiser at the store where I work tomorrow from 2-4pm. Anyone in the area who might be interested, PM me for details.

TONS of prizes, both for pets and people!

Fundraiser was a HUGE success! We raised an impressive amount of money for their project operations. Considering this trip across Canada is not a cheap endeavour!

Also, found out that the Run to Live has raised more money for the Cancer Society so far than any other Peterborough based event has to date! WOO! Great work Scott (and team)!

How is the training going?? Less than a month away! How exciting!

They've had some very successful fundraisers in the last few weeks, which is very encouraging! They're really gearing up for things to start, and are very excited

Getting ready for the big day! They're currently driving through New Brunswick!

I forgot to post on the big day, but the run has been going very well! Scott took yesterday off from running to rest a minor injury, but he was back up and running today!

Okay, bad news update: Scott has suffered a sprain and has been taking a few days to rest his foot. He tried to resume the run this morning, but he decided to take another few days off. Better to fully heal than to risk pushing it this early in the game.

Their spirits are still high, they will be back on the road soon!

The sprain has become a bit more of a roadblock than they'd hoped. Scott's taking a few more days off the road. Better to take the time to heal properly now, he's got the rest of the country to go still!

Think healing vibes so he can get back on the run!
