I know how close winter is moving in when Ruby finds her first best friend for the winter.
It's really disgusting, so I'm warning you now, don't read any further if you don't want to be grossed out.
My dog loves frozen poop.
She will carry it around like a prize until she chews it apart. Then she sniffs out another. This goes on from our first freeze in the fall until the first thaw in the spring.
Honest to goodness, she wants a particular size and shape. I think she could care less who it belongs to..just that she has the size and shape she wants.
Yuck.
I can only share this with dog people. It's a really freaky habit I'm sure she does for a reason, but I have no clue what that reason could be.
