3 day COUNTDOWN: Operation Rachael Ray!

There are only 3 days left to prepare for Operation RR. This Wednesday
May, 9th marks the tragic 2 year anniversary of an enforced Breed Ban in Denver,CO that has cost the lives of nearly 2,000 pit bulls and mixes that resemble this breed. We stand committed not to let this travesty go unnoticed by the rest of America. Our freedom as responsible dog owners has been violated. Innocent dogs have paid with their lives.
DIVA DOG has teamed up with ROVERlution to launch a MAJOR publcity campaign, the goal of which is to bring the issue of
BSL to the public eye and the mainstream media.
We all share the same goal of putting forth a positive image and role model for the most misunderstood dog breed in history, the pit bull. DIVA DOG tells a different story. Coral will put the spotlight on the natural friendly nature of her breed. Her determination to live makes her a poster child for survival against the harsh realities pit bulls face today. We believe that Coral can open the door for a real discussion about why Breed Specific Legislation is not a solution.

Why are Pit Bulls being portrayed as vicious killers by the media when throughout history and even today so many are being kept as beloved family pets, service dogs, and used in law enforcement? If you dig for some real facts, you will always find neglect or an abusive dog owner responsible for the dangerous behavior of his dog. People who fight dogs for sport or train them to attack are the real criminals. They have put the public at risk. They are the criminals. We need stronger laws to punish them.
Sensational news reporting is doing nothing to expose the root of the real problem, nor offering any effective solutions. There are thousands of responsible dog owners in this country that are being penalized by Breed Specific Legislation. To enact legislation against a breed of dog is to fail to see the real problem: irresponsible dog owners. When laws fail to protect, they only punish.
We intend to tell the other side of the story. That any breed of dog, Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rotweillers, German Shepherds, and even Labradors have been shown to be more a product of their early training and development than their genetics. We need education, not legislation, to prevent dog bites and attacks. Breed Specific Legislation is unfair because it penalizes responsible dog owners, is tearing families apart, and has led to the confiscation and killing of thousands of innocent dogs all across the country.
Breed restrictions being mandated by insurance companies also threaten our freedom to choose dog companions. Homeowners can be denied homeowners insurance solely because of the dog they choose to own. Not the "right" breed anymore!
Calling All Dog Rebels
Diva Dog will help to open minds and hearts. She will beg the public to understand that a dog is really just a dog. She will ask everyone to judge every dog by its actions, not its breed. She will tell the world that there can be no justice for dogs otherwise.
