You don't have to answer this if you don't want to as I am very aware of the fact that there are a lot of raw threads out there.

So the other day a friend of mine bought Casey a chicken as I'd asked her previously if she saw any decently priced meat to let me know as I wanted to try Casey on it. It was £2 (around $4), I have no clue if thats a good price?

Anyway with a bit of dificulty I managed to get a leg off and feed it to Casey and she loved it. I have the rest of the chicken left and have no idea how to split it up? I mean how much should I be giving her? Also how do I chop it up? I'm a veggie and don't know how to handle meat. She's not on a raw diet but I just wanted to try her out and prove to my Mum I could do it.

I've been trying to convinve my Mum to let me switch to raw but the only way she will agree is if I can write it all down and work out the costs to the exact penny. I know people say 2-3% of the dogs weight but I actually don't know how much she weighs. How much would you be feeding her on a daily basis? Just a rough estimate I just need to give my Mum an idea and then see if I can find any suppliers. In years to come when I can move out Casey will be fed exactly how I want her, as it is now I've got to go by my Mums rules and can't do it if it works out to be too expensive especially not now I've got Rocky.

Kirst, I'm wondering if you can pay for a consult with Mordy... I think she would really help you get started. It's a thought. :)

Ye I wish I could, Mordy is awesome! Right now I worj every Tuesday and that ££ goes straight to pony and petrol. My Mum pays for Caseys food but she's now saying I have to. Things are a little tight but I'd have it no other way, I've got a dog and pony that I love with all my heart and they are better than any materialistic good.

I'll see how things go, I might be able to convince her. If not well Caseys on the best food I can get over here.
