my dog doesn't have a long fur, so taking care of him is quite easy. But I did see some "horror" looking doggies that weren't taken care off. I think that the owners need to realise that a specialist can help them when they don't know what to do, but the most important thing is DO something, not just ignore this

Well i"m glad do say that we had all "good clients" in today :) Three little toy poodles - I LOVE working with the Poodles. I have a new found respect for them, they are such little treasures and I love fluffing them after a bath, although tedious.

We had a almost 17yr old Terrier mix come in as well!! Shes been a regular for a long time now, but she does fairly well at her age old, some arthritus and slightly cloudy eyes but shes such a gem to bath.

All in all, today was a good day. No "nasty smelly matted" dogs in today that had been neglected!
Some just had the regular "wet doggie" smell, and others are fairly clean, just needed a bath and a clip to shorten the fur.

Gives you hope that not all people are completly clueless to what their dogs needs are :)

that is why i am not a groomer, hats off to all of you brave enough to not wring the necks of people that bring those poor animals in, i knew that sooner or later i was going to blow up at a customer and that is not a good way for me to be.

Doesn't a dog that gets bathed once a year REEK!!
Nope! At least, not with Sibes that are healthy and fed a good diet. They are naturally fastidiously clean and will spend hours grooming themselves like a cat. No doggy smell, clean unmatted fur, and a shiny coat :D

I hear ya Summer. In every puppy class I have the owners twist a clump of their own hair at the back of the hair line into a tight pulling mass and have them hold it there for a few minutes. I then ask them how it feels....
OHOHOH!!! I know how that feels! Happens to me if I don't brush the underside of my hair out every few hours

Like some of the others, I do love my naked pups . . . Bimmer's got a real pelt, but it's very weird . . . even in shedding season he doesn't mat. The undercoat just sloughs off and out from under that slick outer coat. The little feller really is just about perfect ;)

I think alot of it does have to do with what they eat... Perle was hideously smelly when she arrived due to Christian feeding her "Cancer in a Can" as I affectionatley call it... And she had matts round her ears....Now she is on the good stuff, she doesn't get matts, doesn't smell and is wonderfully shiney. I do of course brush her, clip her, and bath her though! lol
