Commen sense would dictate that a thread discussing race would bear some relevance to the color of a dog named Tar Baby. And her dog is white so I'm not sure what your point is......if it was black ok, but it's not. So how did she link the color of her dog to it's name???

Mia just wanted to clarify, I'm not attacking you, but it really does confuse me. And is the dog a current one? I don't think I've ever seen pics.
 
Honestly, it pisses me off when people of my own race call me the "n" word (er, or a, I dont give a ****). Now, THAT gets a reaction out of me. :yikes:

Are people SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY reading into Reggin's name and suggesting that he was named that because of what it says when put backwards?

Honestly when someone first said that it was racist I really didn't get it... i thougth I was way out of the loop with current racial slurs... but to read it backwards and determine that it MUST be meant that way? Well.... that's a little ridiculous lol and I can't do anything else but LAUGH

I can point out the post where Reggin says "tee hee, lookit my name backwards".

Personally, I think it's rude, childish, and offensive. For her to put such a thing, then ADMIT that it was something racist, pretty much tells you how much of a "spin off" it really is.

I had no intention on posting in this thread, but really, this is getting ridiculous.

It is a sad representation of the mob mentality that has taken over this board because someone says something they don't like... which is probably why the same people are defending their actions in the sticky thread made by Saje.

Do you HONESTLY think that REggin put her name up there just to see if anyone would get what is says spelled backwards?

I think this was nothing more than a feeble attempt at calling out someone just because they p!ssed them off.

And you know what else... Hannah is a biblical name *GASP* It MUST mean that I am going to brainwash her to be the lord's servant and send her out to do the "lords" work and become a christian extremist... It must be so if I named her that.

Yes, guys, those of us who get offended over racial slurs are just so darn petty - how dare we read into it when she's made a joke of it before... We really read into things and make up drama where it doesn't exist..

ETA: Sparks, remember in the last thread where you accused me of putting your relationship 'under a microscope'. Please point out where I've made judgments about you and puck. I missed your reply to my post last time.

I just mentioned it....that's it. Just like I mentioned Snowflake being a black Labrador Retriever. Both actually earned their names by being ornery creatures who did the exact opposite of what you wanted them to do.

Again, people reading into things and picking and chosing things to fit their little agendas is asinine. Take it or leave it.

EDIT: I guess what I wanted to say is that I mentioned it as an example of how people make uneducated and downright stupid assumptions about others and then proceed to call them "racist" and "bigot" all because they wanted to believe something about the other person that just isn't true.

It seems more and more people want drama. They want controversy. They want conflict. While they preach "let's all just get along", if everyone did get along then they would be without a job and without a gripe.....and hevean forbid that ever happen.............

I'm Danish/Native American and my name is Staci. Read into it whatever you want.

Oh yeah, and most of my other APBTs are red and the vast majority of them have Native American names...............although I never thought about that until just now, I'm sure someone would love to bring that up.........

Oh come ON AC.... I don't think in any way, shape or form that it was admitting that it was something racist.

I think it was more a moment of "OMG I just realized what my name says backwards... that's crazy"

this is nothing more than a witch hunt and while I love you to bits... I will defend Reggin to the end on this because this is NOTHING BUT NONSENSE. It is nothing more than a few members trying to get even... PERIOD.

It's not petty at all. I am a lover of all people, no matter the color. I get offended when someone calls a gay man a faggot, I get offended by the "n" word. I get offended at cracker.

They are all rude things to say to someone, and each points to a generalization on people.

It's definitely NOT petty.
 
I think it depends on who says it to whom... in which context... and what tone. I personally would never call any of my black friends a Reggin (JUST KIDDIN'!!)... and I am not sure if it fits in the same category.... but I was in bad mood the other day and my hubby called me a "sour kraut" in a joking manner. He still got the stink eye... but I knew how he meant it. Now, if anyone I don't really know thinks they can crack some German jokes on me- yeah, not so funny and I actually can get offended.

It is just plain sillyness that this is even an issue and that an entire thread was started for it. and that is all came on the heels of a thread where REggin's opinion was not the popular one and she p!ssed people off.... coincidence?

Sorry Saje... I will take the blame for bringing this up again.
 
And why was it brought up NOW when it was such ancient history? I know why and that is what is petty and childish
