I have recently started mixing canned and kibble agian for my dogs. I did it before but I don't think I did it right because their stool was very soft. I was wondering what is the correct way to mix in the canned. Right now I am feeding the eagle pack kibble and canidae canned food. The canned food reccomends to mix 75% kibble with 25% canned, but I still give them their regular amount of kibble and just add in a small amount of canned food (like a spoonful and a half). Just enough so that you can tell it's there and to give the kibble an added yummy flavor. Am I mixing it wrong? Their stool seems ok, from what I have noticed. It may be a slight bit softer but not horrible like it used to be.

That's the way I think works best, but I'm not the expert. I like to mix it just enough so that every kibble has a bit of can on it.

yeah that's how I do it too. I hope that's the right way though. I'm afraid if I add anymore they'll get finicky agian and not want to eat the kibble just the canned. I had a horrible time getting them to eat plain kibble last time because they refused to eat anything but canned after I stopped mixing it.

there is really no right or wrong way to go about it.

whatever works for you and your dogs and doesn't cause them to gain excess weight is fine. :)

i know a number of people who use a tablespoon or two of canned food mixed well with a cup of warm water as a "gravy" topping for the dry food.
