My sister just found out today that Harley might loose her eye. A couple of weeks ago, we took Harley to the vet because something was wrong with her eye. Well, the vet said that she had a cyst on it, and she kept rubbing it so much, that she rubbed a layer of her cornea off. They gave her some medicine to take and she seemed to be doing better. The vet said that she may have a blind spot on her eye where the scar was. Well, the eye got worse over the weekend, and my sister just took her to the vet, and now she is on her way to a specialist about an hour away because the vet here said that Harley may loose her eye. He said that this is pretty common with Boxers. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Martin my bf had a Boxer and he said that she had Cysts and the vet told him that Boxers can be prone to Cysts and benign tumours.
I really hope that everything works out ok!!

I don't know anything about it. But I do feel bad for poor Harley. Sounds like she's in good hands though. Let us know how it goes.

Well, my sister took Harley to the specialists yesterday, and he gave her some medicine that would penetrate the eye, so she should be just fine. He says she won't be blind or anything! Thank goodness.

That is exactly what Mary has been having with her eye..i caught early and that helped, they removed the cyst, but about 15 days later it started looking like she was hurting the same way all over again..i started putting more ointment in it until i could get her to the vet two days later (i saw it Friday night) and the vet stained her eye and again you could see scratches,,it ended up the scar tissue was now doing the same thing so they gave me more ointment and we have been using it since, Tomorrow I take her back to the vet to see if we are all clear..they didn't know if the scar tissue would soften up or if she would need a different treatment that they don't do at the humane soceity so If that happens I hope I do well at the next show because it sounds expensive.
