YOur friend's work has such expression, and style. I am sure she will be very successful. I would buy the rock of the sleeping dog in a skinny minute! U asked what country i am from i think? I am in the America, i live in the state of Missouri....Kansas City. I have seen many people attempt to be a stone painter, but most cannot do it at all. I love both of her mediums, the paper and the rock. Thank you so much for sharing all her work with us..i know the other forum members will enjoy these pics too!
How long have you known your friend? Where did she learn to paint?

Good for her!!! She will have the whole market to herself..not just a corner of it. I hope she sells a zillion.. Indoor dog park? as inside a building? That sounds very interesting indeed. The rocks are all so good.and her pastels have a fresh quality to them that makes them sing out....i am glad she is your friend and i am glad you are my friend to share this with..i brought my Mother over today and showed her your website..she thought it was nicely done as i do too..and the little boy Logan that comes to play with my dogs was just amazed at your jungle pictures and your movies. He wants to be a dog handler when he grows up. Tomorrow when he comes i will show him how you put your agility equipment together.Thank you! :D

Those are beautiful portraits! I had to wait until I was at the store to be able to see them since they wouldn't access from the home computer for some reason [sigh]. A lot of people miss that distinctive head shape of dogs like Russell when they're drawing.

I thought maybe you would want to share these with your friend..they are my designs, but she might get some more ideas to branch out with her talent..the rock fish is what i consider to be a gallery piece and has a large price tag on it. I feel it is worth it because the rock is identical on both sides and i painted it as such..i had a small wooden stand to set it up...the others are just ideas..but turtles have paid more than one utility bill and bought a bunch of groceries..it is a joke around here as to if we are eating rabbits or frogs this week..(tonight it is rabbits that will buy tomorrows dinner) i have some little ghosts too and pumpkins that were very popular during halloween..but i do not know if u have that "holiday" or not..anyway it is fun to share ideas...what is your friend's name?????

here are a couple more..i use a non yellowing polyurathane that is indoor/exterior to coat them with, and i found a bag of metal flake that if i am very careful i can add by putting a wet layer of the poly down and placing the metal flake on it..letting it dry and then carefully coating over sealing it between the layers..i didn't ask what kind of paint your friend is using..i use acrylic because it is cheap. drys quickly and doesn't fade even in full sun. I just thought i would share some of what i have learned along the way. :) Turtles are a big hit and i have a waiting list..i do not try to paint them like existing species because that would take too long and i would make no profit..not because i couldn't do it..i could,,,,i have done a soft shelled mud turtle that i sold for 50 dollars...i don't know what that equals in your money system..

over here we dont hv halloween, but i know its fun... actually whats the story behind halloween??
for your info. i think the conversion rate to our money is $1.00:RM4.00. :) probably if there is a chance u should come over here for holiday.. coz is quite cheap... :D i think i should invite my friend join this forum.. then we can share more thought on art work.. i like my friend painting on the baby elephant, it gots a little tail behind.. it looks so cute... hahaha
she is an animal lover so most the painting are animals.... have u ever think of writing a book? teaching others how to start on stone painting?

There is a book on painting stones..i have met the daughter of the woman that wrote it..my stlye is very different from hers, so no i haven't, but i have two books i am working on..(very slowly) ..I wish i could go on holiday..i haven' had a vacation for 20 yrs..think i am due to go???? ;) I have been invited to teach at a local woman's health spa and am considering going. I have never taught before, but think i might like to try. I think artist should share ideas ..and learn from each other. One of my favorite art teachers at the ARt Insititute said that a class is not a teacher and empty vessels or minds, but a group of people all learning in the same direction...learning from each other. I was very fortunate to have her as my instructor, she was from the Royal Academy of Art in England..and was a guest instructor at my college. Aunty Suzi does lovely work..i have enjoyed every piece you have shared with me :D
i will have to look up the history of halloween..i don't even remember anymore, like easter being about rabbits and easter egg hunts..when originally it is about Christ ..halloween is celebrated by children dressing up in costumes and going from door to door asking for candy..and having haunted houses..a spoof on being scared..it has little to do with actual all saints. eve.i can't even remember! I will find out. and come back i was not raised with religion of any kind so my facts there are a bit fuzzy.

last night, we had the first pot luck night in the indoor park. everyone will bring some food share with others.. The turnout was great and the pet talent participation was overwhelming.. i m very enjoy myself making new friends and some of the dogs were so excited they running non stop... this is the only park so far we can unleash our dogs and let them run free... now they trying to do more events so that we hv chance to social our dogs..
we are planning to invite aunty suzi to do stone painting demo in the park as one of the event, meanwhile raise fund for local spca... i hv not yet show her your great work coz she still in holiday with her family.. i m sure after she join in, u both great artist can chat non stop regards the art work! :D

Oh that sounds like so much fun!!! My friend Kelly has an off leash dog park near her, it is the one that i take Mary and Victor to once city market opens. IT is about a 45 minute drive so we can not go near as often as i wish. THere are 55 acres of woods and open land as well, and a beautiful section of lake saved just for the canines.no fishermen or people pinicing. My friend Kelly has made so many friends there, she goes every morning with her 4 dogs. I know how important that has become to her since she and her husband run their own business so the rest of the day is nothing but hard and boring work. :(
I hope Aunti Suzi does well with her demonstration. I watched a special on your country this morning, it was about making kites and i thought WOW that is where my friend lives! It was a delight to see the people and the landscape. The kites were a glory in the sky. I hope you raise a lot of money for the spca..let me know how it all turns out! :)

I will find you some info on this and post tonight.hope you have some old Bob Wills for your cowboy night..gee i wish i could come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Sorry her demo will be postponed. :( ..I would like to see that too! people like to see a person paint..i have found when i go to market that if i sit there and paint i sell more...but it gets so hot here that my paint dries out in minutes and i hate to waste any at all. Plus i prefer to run away to the dog park and let my daughter do the selling (shame on me)..she is so good at it. I am off to the rock pile today..will come back later and post. :) i posted the thread at the fire hydrant because i thought more forum members would see it there, and they might have ideas to add..it is under..halloween for Shyeow.
