I wasn't sure if I should put this in this forum or the dog section but please move it if I'm wrong

September hasn't been the best month for me for a number of reasons so tonight as I was moping around on my laptop I decided I'd write a poem about the one person who is always there to pull me through, my heart dog Casey!
I've never actually wrote a peom before and wasn't the best English student so it isn't correct at all and doesn't rhyme or have any punctuation because I don't know how lol, so if anyone has any tips or hint please feel free to help me.
Also if you have any poetry to share post them here because I'm really interested.
My heart dog
She stands forever by my side no matter how terrible the storm
Always watching and waiting
So in tune to even the subtlest change of emotions
Nothing can be hidden from her watchful eyes
She’s there to comfort me during the darkest of nights
Gently resting her head on my hand
So easily she takes away my fears
Just knowing she is right there next to me
She’s there to share the brighter moments of life
Joyously bounding along wherever we go
Her whole body radiating happiness
As she smiles up at me
She has given me the purest form of love
No matter where my path takes me she will blindly follow
Never abandoning me for greener pastures
And helping me to fully understand the true meaning of devotion
I hope she knows how much I love her
She is my friend, my protector, my saviour
But most of all she is my heart dog
