OH yes I think those people that end up looking completely freaky are not just over using... they are ADDICTS and I think any reputable doctor should tell them NO MORE.

"Addict" is a good analogy for those types ... because they must have long ago blinded themselves to reality as they obviously have no clear idea that they don't look good ... they look SCARY. :yikes:

You would think at some point some doctor would clue them in, or just outright refuse .. you would think. But in reality it seems it's no different than any other profession: Some are reputable and honest like Fransheska's father, while others apparently care only about getting paid regardless of how scary the results or how mentally disturbed those particular patients must surely be.

I think it's fine in moderation.

I would consider a nose job. I've had my nose broken 3 times, and it'd be nice and improve my confidence to have it done. I wouldn't consider anything drastic though.

I doubt if she even remembers when she hated it . Sure we hate to age ! Elizabeth Taylor is my age but with hair dyes and cosmetic surgery looks 10 years younger . But, I think I'm happier !

Elizabeth Taylor looks horrible, in my opinion. WAY to much done

Sad because she used to be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen IMHO.

As for plastic surgery, it's not my body or my money. I really, really don't care if someone gets plastic surgery done. *shrug*

I really don't think it's for me, though. In 10 seconds I can name a million things I hate about my appearance but I doubt I'd ever have surgery to improve it.

Reconstructive surgery I would most likely do if something were to happen (any accident or whatever that fscks my face up or whatever and changes my appearance), to me, definitely.
And another thing- my boobs are huge and if at some point they hurt my back or put extra strain on my body I would consider a reduction.

Mostly I would like to be as natural as possible.

I do not look down on anyone who wishes to have plastic surgery. I do however, feel sad for people who are so unhappy in their own skin that they feel the need for constant change to try to find happiness. I think of Michael Jackson and people like him who couldn't quit "changing" because the surgery just couldn't make them find the happiness they were seeking.

I also feel so sorry for people who find the need for things like radical sex changes etc... I do not look down on them though, I only hope they find the happiness they are looking for.

I think even with parental consent tattoos/piercings shouldn't be done until 18. You're not mature enough to make that decision at 15/16 and i don't think parents should be allowed to alter their child's bodies in a permanent way.

I would never personally get plastic surgery unless it was for a medical/after an accident reason kind of thing, but to each their own. I just don't think it's a good idea for children.

I had rhinoplasty (nose job) done at 22. I've never regretted it, but it also helped me breathe out of both nostrils....a joy you don't realize you've missed!

After the MRSA infection from my first c-section and all the damage it did, I'll be honest and admit that you can see this weird rippling on my stomach due to all the damaged tissue removed internally during subsequent c-sections (especially this latest one). This OB also let me know that the staph did a heck of a number internally to my lower abdominal muscles. I also have a vertical scar and a horizontal scar, although this doc also did a "mini-tuck" as he calls it in an effort to remove as much external damaged tissue and the old horizontal scar as he felt he could. I never wanted a tummy tuck before and used to laugh off the whole "Mommy Makeover" stuff, but now I find myself wishing I could afford a tummy tuck to just have a single horiztonal scar and also have all the damage repaired. I go back in July for a recheck and to discuss the possiblity as my insurance just might cover some sort of plastic surgery because of it all and I do believe now that I would have it done.

As for my face, I do have a few little "smile lines" around my eyes already, but IMO it's just expressive. I do not want to look like a deer facing down death even when I'm smiling and laughing. And I cannot stand upper lips that cannot move. bleh.
