Sporting: American Water Spaniel (Well, the idea of one at least met one in person, and some youtubing, not that hot in the field compared to other flushers).
Hound: Greyhound
Working: Malamute
Terrier: Airdale
Toy: Italian Grey/ Pom
Non-Sporting: Dal or Std Poodle
Herding: ACD? Finnish Lapphunds? Samoyed (I'm moving it for these purposes)
Misc: Wirehaired Vizla?
FSS: Karelian Bear Dog

Sporting: Cocker (English or American; I'm cheating)
Hound: Whippet
Working: Standard Schnauzer
Terrier: Australian
Toy: Pekingese
Non-sporting: Shiba (but it'd have to be the right one)
Herding: All of them? Lol; I can't pick just one. Right now, Belgians, but I'll have others in my lifetime, I'm sure.

*I am picking AKC breeds just because I think that's what it looks like most are doing, eventhough I'm in Canada.

Hounds:
Rhodesian Ridgeback (might own, dependent on lifestyle at the time)

Working:
Doberman (do own, likely would again for the right dog a long time from now)
Leonberger (would own if I had enough space not to feel overwhelmed by the size)
Saint Bernard (Likely wouldn't own. Too much slobber.)

Sporting:
Toller (do own, would own again)
Chesapeake Bay Retriever (wouldn't be likely to seek out, but would consider)
Lab (wouldn't be likely to seek out, but would consider)

Terrier:
Border Terrier (would own. I love the ones I know.)
Jack Russell Terrier (wouldn't be likely to seek out, but would consider. I love the ones I know.)

Non-sporting:
Dalmatian (would own. I loved the one we had.)

Herding:
Aussie (do own, would definitely own another)
Koolie (would definitely own, came thisclose to getting one)
Kelpie (would own, but would be picky)
Belgian Shepherd (I like all the types, would own, but it'd have to be just the right time and the right dog)
Beauceron (would have to be the right time and dog. Wouldn't be likely to seek out, but would consider)

Toy:
LH Chihuahua (likely would not own, but they're cute)

Misc. Class:
Wirehaired Vizsla (maybe)
Berger Picard (maybe. The ones I know are a little more aloof than I prefer though.)

FSS:
Hovawart (maybe. Don't know enough about them, but I do like them)
Mudi (wanted one. Hate the voice though, so likely not.)

There are quite a few breeds I like, but I think I'll stick with a couple select herding breeds (and likely a nice Toller if I had room) from here on out and maybe one larger, less busy dog at some point along with them, but no idea really what breed.

Sporting
English Springer Spaniel (currently own and would again)
Welsh Springer Spaniel (if I could find the right breeder, maybe)
Retrievers (Curly Coated, Labrador, Golden, NSDTR... all maybe if I could find the right breeder)

Herding
Belgian Shepherd (I've really looked into these dogs and know a lot of pedigrees of dogs I admire as well as I know my Spaniels. I just don't know if I'll ever actually take that leap.)

Working
Samoyed (grew up with one, likely wouldn't own again)
Giant Schnauzer (I've always adored them, likely wouldn't ever own one)

Terrier
None

Toy
None

Non-Sporting
Dalmatian (I really, really like the look but wouldn't own)

Hound
If I had space and neighbors with good distance, I'd totally pull some kind of generic hound from a shelter. They always make me laugh. No real preference.

Really though, unless things change dramatically in a lot of ways, I don't plan on having more than one of my own dogs at a time. I want to be able to continue to foster and I feel overdogged with two dogs sometimes so... one of my own and a foster is the plan.

I'm mostly keeping it to one breed per group.

Sporting:
Golden Retriever (not very likely, but probably the most likely of the group)

Hounds:
Ridgeback (not with my life as it is now, but something I'd love if life changed)

Working:
Nothing I'd consider

Terrier:
Bedlington (have owned)
Staffy (would consider, especially a purpose-bred mix)

Toy:
Cavalier (if I were home more, in a heartbeat)

Non-sporting:
Lundehund (really wanted one for a bit; wouldn't because of the health issues, but still like them)

Herding:
Border Collie (one of the few breeds I might actively seek out)
ACD (not sure they'd really work for me, but I adore them)

Misc:
Cirneco dell’Etna (adore the look, but never actually met one)

FSS:
Appenzeller (I didn't really love the ones I used to know, but I'd be interested in re-meeting some now)

I'm going to use ANKC groups and keep it to three breeds from each:

Havanese
Tibetan Spaniel

Terrier
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Jack Russell Terrier
Tenterfield Terrier

Gundogs
Brittany
Hungarian Vizsla
Italian Spinone

Whippet
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Saluki

Is it weird that the Finnish Spitz is in the hound group?

Working
Swedish Vallhund
Australian Kelpie
Finnish Lapphund

Non-sporting
Poodle (all types!)
Schipperke
Tibetan Terrier

Utility
Samoyed
Rottweiler

A few from each group that I would definitely own in the future.

Sporting: Golden Retriever (have had in past), Cocker Spaniel (have now), Setters (all of them).
Hound: Afghan!
Working: Samoyed, Malamute, Siberian Husky
Terrier: Westie. I suppose. I'm not a huge terrier fan.
Toy: Papillion
Non-Sporting: American Eskimo, Chow, Lhasa Apso (have now), Shiva
Herding: Collie, Sheltie
