so while my family is away i set aside $20 to take myself out one night for dinner and a drink. (i can have 1 and still drive lol)

so i decided to go to chillis, i enjoy their food, i know some of the waitress/waiters there and its an overall nice atmosphere.

im sat eating and some idiot girls come in, sit down and order...
long to short...

theres 2 of them and they think i cant hear them...
and one says "ugh, look at her" motioning in my direction...
the other goes "yeah i know, they shouldnt let fat people eat in public"

UGH! what the **** is wrong with people?

i mean for 1: i has a small rum and coke, a glass of water and a chicken salad sitting infront of me...

for 2: after seeing their order arrive...just cause they were the skinny popular types JEEZUS they can eat, they had a bottomless chips, and 2 apitizers, then fajitas for 2 EACH, then followed it all up with a burger and a chicken sandwhich both with fries and veggies, and THEN they ordered a desert each...

for 3: i know im fat, and suprisingly the 'fat police' let me out of the house once in awhile, even stranger they DO let me eat in public!

i didnt say anything, i probably should have...but i didnt...they must have said something about one of the waitresses too though because as she walked past they muttered something and she sped up and about 5 minutes later the manager came out and told them that they were to leave imediatly and not return.
they kicked up a fuss and asked to call the main office and he must have aledy informed the office because they hung up after a few minutes and stormed out in a huff.
im glad they got what was comming but i doubt itll change them...

I have a friend like that. its like word vomit, she HAS to say something when she sees an overweight person. and seriously, it pisses all of us off. and she doesn't get why, shes like "Why are you guys getting so mad? We are all skinny" thats not the **** point.. UGH!

In her head all overweight people are that way because they eat McDs 24/7 and don't move. but there is so much more to it than that, I have a friend whose overweight, and it must be genetic or something because she exercises MUCH more than I do (and im pretty active) and eats better than I do. its not that simple

I was at spinning one day and someone made a remark about an overweight girl "breaking the bicycle". Ok then, wtf. you complain if you see them eating, and complain if you see them exercising. just mind your own **** business!

Your situation reminds me of Meg Ryan's character from "You've Got Mail". She laments about never knowing what to say when confronted with a horrible person...and then getting home and having a gazillion snappy come backs an hour later.

Augh! that is just terrible. I am so sorry that you had to hear and go through that. I am glad though that they got kicked out and hopefully they learned their lession. I doubt it though. And the way I see it girls that make fun of over weight people or people in general have very very low self esteem and they just do that to make themselves feel better.

I also have friends like Fran does who make fun of people and let me tell you her selfesteem is Zero. And it makes her feel better to make fun of other people and make them feel bad to.

fran ive been through similar to what your descibing too, when i had my gym membership stupid people making comments about breaking the equiptment ect.

i dont understand what they get out of it...
are they seriously THAT insecure in themselves that the only way to give themselves a boost is to put down someone else...and the fat chick alone in the corner was an easy target.

Amen to that. It's a very sad thing that some people can only feel good about themselves when they are knocking someone else down, I pity them really.

foxy, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I know all to often how that feels. I've been ridiculed many many times in public and it's so hurtful that I almost always end up going home in tears. I always order a diet soda with my meal because for one I figure why drink extra calories and because I find the regular soda to be too sweet and I'll be damned if some wise arse doesn't always have to make a snide comment like "why does she even bother to order a diet drink"

Some people are and always will be asshats when it comes to being cruel to overweight people. I never could understand what makes them think it's okay, heck.. they don't know me, nor did they take the time to even speak to me except for hateful and hurtful words just because I'm fat.

Even if I ate crap 24 hours a day (I don't) but if I did... it's my freakin life and my money I am spending and it's no business of anyone elses. I don't ridicule thin people that eat fast food day after day. I just don't get it.

I'm so sorry, Gemma. They're just douchecanoes and I'm glad they got kicked out.
I've gained a lot of weight in the last few years. It makes me feel like ****. I don't WANT to be like this, and combined with a few other issues my medication makes it almost impossible to lose weight.
They're just pathetic people with no self esteem, blind to true beauty, and nothing better to say than to insult people to make themselves feel better.

She's skinny so why can't everyone else be? (Actually she's gaining weight and I'm taking secret delight in the fact that it's not as easy to get rid of it as she always thought it was.....I think that makes me a bad person too lol). But anyway, I'm glad the manager had enough backbone to kick them out. Most wouldn't no matter what they were doing.

What's funny about a lot of those girls is that they're exactly the ones who end up popping out babies and gaining weight they never lose (I've seen so many of the thin popular girls from high school look like this now)

This never ceases to shock me. Even though that's absolutely the kind of thing my mother would say Why would that even cross someone's mind?

I should say in all honesty, I make fun of fat people. But I also make fun of skinny people (probably moreso). Mostly I make fun of people who look like they're asking to be made fun of. But I don't mean it and I would never ever say something to hurt someone's feelings.

Foxy, for what it's worth I've seen pics of you and I think you're really really pretty and this probably will sound dumb but I'd much rather be seated next to you or someone like you in a restaurant than really obnoxious assholes like those girls probably were.

At least there are some people willing to stick up for others. Maybe they said something else about another customer or another customer just heard them and said something.
