A good read is Click to Calm by Emma Parsons. There are good exersizes that you can practice - its deemed "healing the aggressive dog" but there is a lot of good information in there that could be helpful to your situation.
I would be careful with the treating/rewarding - I would not want to reward the nervous behavior
Hopefully its a fear period! fingers crossed
That would be great.. If she could "fix" keely with 1 session... As I would Have to drive 4-5 hours to get to her![]()

The thing is though is if you "call" her she may be able to direct you to another trainer. I could also ask a few friends if they know of any other good trainers in Nfld. There are a few Newf breeders over there who show dogs all over and show with friends of mineI'll mention central Nfld and where to find a good trainer.
I think one thing that will really help you, when you start reading the book and/or when you get a trainer, is to figure out what her triggers are. There usually something that makes it more likely for dogs to react - people with hats, people with long hair, people wearing coats or scarves; people walking fast toward you, people walking fast away from you, people coming up behind you, etc. Also make a list of what situations do not scare her - people standing still from 50 yards away, etc. I know that it's hard to do in the moment, but try to look at things from her point of view; some types of people can be very scary to dogs, and the more you actively observe her, the better you'll get at figuring out what is scary to her.Iut another thing i cant really make any sense out of..
When I first got her, It was summer, And I could bring her to the beach, Take her for walks around a pond with a board walk, Where there was a bunch of people, and she wouldnt make a sound. She was happy as a clam.
And I can bring her in stores with me, And she doesnt Make a peep, with people around, She doesnt Seem fearful At all, And there is certainly no Aggression. Its weird.
If thats her in your avatar, another solution would be to send her to me![]()
Well, We have made some progress, she tenses up a little but her outburts have cut back alot.. AMAZING breakthrough last night! I took her for a walk and Instead of barking, growling and lunging at a lady she put her ears back and ran at her excitedly, and rolled over for a belly scratch. wow!
SHe has mastered the "focus "command. And we have been practising daily.
I have noticed that on her good days, when she isnt barking at people or doing anythig bad to people, She will still bark at seior citizens..
They set her off more so then any other peopel
Ill be waiting.
