I'd like the ice sheet that's formed from the last snow fall to completely melt before we get our next round, kthx. However, I don't think that's going to happen, as the air smelled like cows last night, which usually means we'll be getting snow within the next 24 hours.

ETA: Yup, just checked the weather, it's supposed to start snowing tonight, around 6 inches predicted in the next 24 hours and snowing off and on until Tuesday. I just hope it waits until I'm back from the Springs tonight to start.

You don't have to leave your faucets dripping unless you don't have any heat in the house. ROFLOL.
Well, it is true that my pipes are not insulated, and are in the crawl space under my house which is open and I can't even close the vents. There is also zero insulation in my house, so my floors get quite cold. It supposedly got down to 24 degrees last night, which is just about as cold as it will get all winter, but still, I don't remember ever leaving the faucets dripping last winter and I had no problems.

it's snowing here today--really the first snowfall that is sticking at all. Odd for us--we usually have a good snowfall earlier than this.

Oh...well, hmmm...maybe that's another story. Maybe that makes a difference. I don't know if my pipes are insulated or not under the crawl space. The water lines are buried like 7 feet under the ground though where it's not cold. The water comes from a spring and is VERY cold when it comes out. (good when you want a cold glass of water) But I do have good insulation. It's a newer house. But geeeze....it's gotten to 30 below zero here which lasted about a week or two...not last year, but the two years before. Now that's ridiculously cold!
