So I come in from work today and Roxy corners me with a story about HER day...
A woman walked into her store and declaired "my dog stinks, what can I do about it?" Roxy begins leads to the grooming section, and asking questions of the owner to get information that will help her reccomend the right products.
The dog is an 8 week old Springer, brought from a pet store, she has had him for two weeks, and has been bathing him EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
. Roxy explains that spaniels by nature have a slightly stronger doggie smell than some other breeds. "So it will never go away??" demands the customer. Roxy tells her that it can be controlled, but will probably never completely disappear. Then the woman drops the bomb shell... "Well then I don't want it."
Hoping she heard wrong Roxy asks her what she means. "I don't want the dog, I'll just sell it on the internet." It brought Roxy to tears...
People like this are the core of the problem. Yuppies with more money then sense who see dogs as disposable fasion accessories, status symbols, and conversation pieces.
Then she has the audacity to ask "Is there any breed that DOESN'T stink??"
**grumble...***
