As part of my course I have to pass an ECDL (European Computer Driving License).

Basically to show I am computer literate. Which I am.

We have a 'diagnostic' before we sit the actual module.. which I am doing now because my test is tomorrow.

Picked a nice easy module to start with - Microsoft Word. What a breeeze! I can use that standing on my head.

Well............. BOLLOX. I some how picked the Word 2007 diagnostic and I have NEVER USED word 2007.

Ok, once... I have used it ONCE!!!!!!

1st question. Where should you click to open a new document :yikes:

Are you using PC or Mac? With PC it's just like Word 2003, left hand corner where it says "File" click and the drop down menu and go to "new". You can choose from there.

No it's a PC.... Basically the diagnostic is a picture of word and you click what you're supposed to do... and you only get one go at it....

I really don't understand Word 2007 There ISN'T a file option?! Unless it's the colourful thing in the corner?!

I know what you mean about Word 2007. I hate it because everything is pictures instead of the regular options I am used to. I didn't even know how to "save as" when I used it at school

Yup. The squiggle is the windows logo.

This is daft, I can't pass a test on a version of word I have never used!! I am just going to tell the woman I can't do it and will do it next time me think!!!

Oooh... I got past that part, but gave up on the rest... it is officially impossible to pass a test on something you know nothing about

I just need to do the diagnostic while logged onto Word 2007!!!!!

I just did the 'using the computer and managing files' test and got 98% so all is not lost.

Mine shows a white blank paper in the top left hand corner to open a new document. I actually like it a lot once you get the hang of it!

Weird, mine still has the original 2003 layout...but says Word 2007...weird.

I still use XP with classic view though, I'm not subject to changes!
