90 minutes of Yoga tonight. That might kill me worse than the lifting did. Good job keeping the weight off there ladies.

I'm making myself lift weights. My upper body looks better than ever.. Love handles are shrinking..

My lower body is improving.. but not in ways I really see. I still have a load of padding on my hips and my thighs aren't toning up.. Though my jeans with no stretch almost fit again. So something is happening...

I've taken it up a notch. I'm taking an extra walk every day. Would like ot figure out how to help my huge hips though. *sigh*

I am down 45, still a ways to go but closing in on half way!!! I really feel the difference now!

I have just started adding in activity, I needed to I was stalled.... I also am working on giving up my soda... Diet, but still lots of bad crap in it!!

The hardest challenge is yet to come, I plan to quit smoking soon, I want to loose about another 20 lbs before I do, and then I hope to hold my weight steady for a bit, and not worry about losing anymore until I am a few months smoke free....

That yoga stuff is no joke. 90 minutes of it. 45 minutes of movement stuff (vinyasas, planks, downward dog, upward dog, warrior 1,2 and 3, etc.). Then 45 minutes of balance poses. I didn't get in the "max burn" zone like you do with cardio but I definitely feel like I've worked out.

Tomorrow: Legs and back plus ab ripper.

Phew. An hour of lunges, pull ups, wall squats and calf raises. I couldn't lift my legs and skipped the ab ripper for tonight. Tomorrow is Kempo. I'll do ab ripper after that. It's a lighter workout and I can probably handle it then.

So far, Lara (my 14 year old) is hanging right there with me. Lower weight and fewer reps, but she's doing it.

So Eddieq, I'm interested in trying P90X. I've been debating back and forth whether I should get P90X or Power 90, and whether it's even worth the money or not. I've lost 25-30 pounds since January, but am having a really hard time with the last 10-15. Is it something you'd recommend? I'm worried I won't be able to keep up - I can barely do 10 push ups! But I don't feel like I'm totally out of shape, I was running 2-3 miles regularly. Any thoughts?

It depends. I understand that P90 is less extreme than the P90X program (the "X" is supposed to be "Extreme"). I'm overweight (weighed in at 259 on my initial night) and going on 39 years old and I'm doing it. The thing about "keeping up" is that you can always press pause and the guy in the video constantly says, "You don't have to match our pace - go at your own rate and judge for yourself, just make sure you are pushing yourself."

On top of that, my 14 year old daughter is also doing this with me.

There are moves, quite frankly, that I could not do, at least on the first pass. I am only just finishing my first week of the program. Tonight is the last night of the cycle. Tomorrow is day 7 which is a rest/stretch day and then back into the routine. I'll know more about if I've improved by comparing next week with this week.

So yes, I'd recommend it. My wife commented that I'm already starting to show some definition in my abs (at the obliques). You can find it on craigslist and such for less than the going rate online. Just make sure it comes with the workout book.

Ok, just weighed in. I was 259.4 last Friday night wearing shorts and a tank top. Dressed the same tonight, I weighed in at 253.2, so just over 6 pounds down.

Just finished "Stretch X". It was an hour video with the program that ran the gambit of simple ballistic stretches through yoga moves and some others. Broke a good sweat during that even. This program is for real.

No, I didn't see that.

And I weighed in this morning (in the buff - stop thinking bout it :lol-sign: ) before I had anything to eat and was 250.2. Which is down from my morning weight of a week ago at 257, so I'm right on track :)

Thanks, MP. I have similar pics of my daughter (wearing a sports bra). Those aren't going to be posted, though ;)

She refuses to admit that she sees it. I think she's discouraged because she is working really hard and isn't seeing as dramatic results as I did. It's a difference of physiology, though. I show her the pics and point out the spots that are different. Friends tell her that she looks good. I measured her waist and hips and she's lost size on both.

She's unfortunately 14, hormonal, teen angst and overweight and on top of that is busy with school, athletics and I'm asking her to workout an hour every night. I'm trying to keep her motivated, but it's tough.
