Been a while since anything has happened here... so maybe I can help jumpstart it again with my 2-cents? Well, either way...
I am attempting a plan to lose one pound per week this year. I started the first full week of January.
So far, I have lost 4.4lbs... which (considering that this is the end of Week 9) is a bit off track.
I'm not letting myself be too discouraged, though. I was sick for a good week and a half last month, and I have been crazy-busy with a lot of pet-sitting and various deadlines for projects, so I haven't had many chances to get to the gym. So all-in-all, an average loss of .5lbs/week is still progress!
Next week, though, should be much better. I have better control of my schedule, not so many weird extra things this month, so I'll be back at the gym! Woohoo!
OH!! And for anybody that uses an iPhone or iPod Touch, there is a free application called "Lose It!" by FitNow, and it has been very useful. It helps track calorie intake with a HUGE food dictionary (you can add in your own custom stuff, too), and also your calorie output with a BUNCH of different exercises that are included in the program. The exercise section has the normal running/walking/biking/weights/etc. stuff in it, but also has trackers for house-cleaning, yardwork, playing musical instruments, and even sexual activity. :rofl1:
Anyways, I just thought I'd share that find with anybody else that may be interested. I'm a very visual person, and this program has been great in helping me see where I do well and where I tend to get off track.
