I just took my 4month pup out for a short walk for no more than 5minutes when he just layed down and started whimpering a bit. I think he swallowed something earlier too.. I came to check what it was but he was already walking away. I was really worried when he started whimpering. I checked his feet to see if he got a cut or anything, and now I'm worrying that whatever it is he ate is causing it.. I started to walk home with him, but he'd stop every so often to sit down. I'd wait with him, then continue walking again. Err.. what could it be?

Oh yeah, I also added a raw egg to his meal today to get him to finish it up. Can't be contamination from that can it?

Was the sidewalk or tar really hot? Gunnar was burning his footsie's one day on the sidewalk and laid down and whimpered. I felt so bad! Contamination from the egg (salmonella) is pretty unlikely unless your pup already has a weakened immune system. They can handle Salmonella because of a shorter digestive tract that is a lot less hospitable to bacteria's than ours is. Stronger digestive juices as well. Keep an eye on him and call the vet if you don't see improvment in him and he becomes listless.

Maybe he hurt himself playing earlier and didn't want to walk. Maverick did that once but it was after a much longer walk. Steve had to wrap up our huge puppy in my jacket and carry him home on my bike. The problem was I was riding my bike around and steve was walking with mav but mav wanted to chase my bike and he wore himself out.

Actually.. it is a pretty hot day out today. 26 degrees celsius. He was just cooped in for the whole day so I thought I can get some of his energy burnt in a 15minute walk. He mostly was walking on the grass though.
