We have a 2 party system, but in reality it's really one.
When Rep mess up, people vote Dem.

Maybe if all the Chazzers pool their money, we can buy our own island. :p
Probably won't even be enough room just for the dogs. :rofl1:

You know, this might actually be an affordable idea. Think we can come up with 800 grand between all of us?

Ligia Island, Greece, Europe
Its only 32 acres... Hard to keep a hundred people alive on 32 acres.

BUT, its only 50 meters from another island. We could invade and stuff. Buckshot and I would be enough military, ya think? LOL

And I bet they would take $500K. Greece is in the crapper right now.

:)

Well for 1.9 million we can have a 300 acre island off of Maine. I grant you it is cokld in the winter, but it used to belong to the Rockefellers, how bad can it be?
Foster Island, Maine, United States

Or, wait, here we go. This one is 4,231 acres and only 10.9 million us dollars. It has gorgeous beaches too. My dogs love the beach. Off the coast of Brazil

BoiPeba Island, Brazil, South America

I do not endorse taking a strong standpoint immediately on a majority of issues. However, if no one takes a strong standpoint, we all fall victim to groupthink. This is the point at which everyone conforms to some arbitrary rationalized viewpoint which really pleases none of the factions in the discussion and accomplishes little.

My method is to think first.
1. Lash out at the opposing viewpoint. I keep this private, so I don't embarrass myself. It is just a natural reaction to change.
2. Think about the logical points of the opposing viewpoint.
3. Play at doubting my own viewpoint. Look for the holes in my own logic.
4. Conclude one of three things: a) I am wrong. b) I am right. c) Combo of both.

I never have a point. I find it extremely hard and irresponsible to take a strong standpoint when most issues are so complex and affect so many.

I mostly argue to try and figure out why others feel the way they do, or get more details, or just to understand the situations, different possible solutions, and different predicted (or feared) outcomes.

I'm trying to imagine the group of us agreeing on any laws, etc, except . . . "You can own as many dogs as you can care for" and "Scoop the poop"

See, now that's the thing -- we expect Chazzers to have a sense of personal responsibility and not need -- or want -- all the nanny-ing :)

You've gotta figure, too, that anyone who WANTS to have authority to tell people what to do and what not to do and enforce such, well . . . poop is probably about the limit of what they should realistically regulate ;)

We can rename the island CHAZ, an acronym for Communal Hellraising Anarchic Zoo. At least until someone comes up with something better. I am sure there is someone who wants to be in charge of poop scooping ordinances.

Hey, Renee, did you get a look at those beaches on our island? They alone are worth the eleven million.
