Okay, maybe once or twice a day I'll take her and the pups onto my bed- definitly not at night- and lay there, maybe that will make her feel better. Its true, I definitly need to pay more attention to her, I really havn't since she whelped 3 days ago. Maybe thats part of the problem-and why she wants the pups on my bed.

SHe needs super special new mama attention. Give that girl a piece of pizza and hug her tight. Tell her she is the most special mama in the whole world and just how proud of her you are. IT's important.

It really is. Just like a human mother with a new baby, she's stressed out, uncertain what to do, and confused. Its very likely she has had no experience with puppies since she WAS one.

I just wanted to commend the original poster for taking such proactive action to save her family pet and litter.:) I can only imagine how frustrating it is to have to take responsibility over someone elses poor judgement especially since not everyone views animals as we do. Duke and I are rooting for you, no matter what happens just know your doing a wonderful job and six days is not a lot of time to learn much. I was going to say if you cant get an x pen could you re arrange your bed to make a more private corner cover it with blankets to make a sort of cave and just block her access to get under the bed ( prehaps by taping card board box to the bed frame- you can find old boxes in recycling bins and cut them down if your short on cash)

This is not directed at anyone who has posted this time but this is why I love the core members of chaz, noone deserves to be judged until background information is known. So to everyone who posted useful advice, thanks for being awsome.

I am very sad your parents have done this to you. It is unfair to lump the responsibility onto you, especially seeing as you can't do anything without their permission.
Keep coming here and reading up. These guys on here have a wealth of knowlege and are more then willing to share.

Wow, guys, thanks!!!!! Your gonna make me cry! :) I really do appreciate all the support!!!

Roxy did VERY well last night and LET THEM NURSE!!!!!! Praise the Lord! I put a blanket over the box and she only got out this morning to go outside. And when she came back inside, she went right to the box! It was switching the blanket on bottom, and adding more cushion, that made the difference, I think.

The puppies are growing already! I can't beleive it! I'm SO attched to them, already, too. :D

what is an x pen, amybe you guys told me earlier and I didnt catch it.

and the box is about 4 feet long by 2 feet wide, PLENTY big enough, seeing as she is just a peekingese. There will be plenty of room for the pups to run aroung when there a bit older

Mary was certainly a house dog and a spactacular mom. HAVIng her where i could see her and monitor the puppies i believe is one of the reasons all housebroke so easily and i could keep them ultra clean.

YOu should probably be thinking ahead of where they are going to be when they are wiggle giggle toddlers gettting into anything and everything. You will need an area that can easily be cleaned, the puppies can be contained without getting themselves into trouble, and you will still be able to have access to clean papers and check progress. Just a reminder because i am totally anal about this..keep those sharp nails trimmed, i believe that is the number one reason mama's don't want to nurse. THe nails grow really fast.
Have you one room you could make puppy safe and paper off? I would be looking for neighbors that are willing to donate their used newspaper as well.
