I've finally made a decision on what NextDog will be! I'll be getting it in 1-2 years, and it will be......

Drumroll......

A black or silver standard poodle!!!! Goes against everything I've said about wanting minimal grooming, but they fit me so well otherwise I'm willing to take the grooming. Plus, we've met 4-5 Spoos in the last few months, and Nola adores them.

I'm so excited about this! I've always loved the standards, and I can't wait to get her (gotta be female). While she'll primarily be a companion for myself and Nola, I'm looking into doing Rally with her in addition to Nola, dock diving, maybe even some hunt test type things although I haven't looked to much into it.

Can anyone recommend a good Spoo breeder in the South East? Ideally in FL, GA or AL but I'm willing to go farther for the right dog. I don't want a hunting line dog, but show or sport is fine. I'd prefer sport, but either will do. So far, Tintlet is at the top of my list.

On phone, excuse any issues!

Argh brilliant choice. I love them... Hate hair... I think they'd also be the only breed I'd consider despite that...

Congrats!! Poodles are a fantastic breed! I am on my second, and will never be without one! I saw your post on the poodle board that I am on looking for breeders. The only (good) breeder I know of in FL is Aris poodles.

I was really impressed with them, and they have a great reputation in the poodle world. I dont know many others in your area though.

The grooming can be pretty minimul if you keep it short and learn how to do maintence yourself. Draco has not been groomed since Thanksgiving, and was pretty short.

Oh gosh, I am thinking that may be my next puppy too. After working with them every day (that I work) at the grooming salon I work at - I've fallen too in love. They really are just excellent dogs!

I think I need a white one to have dye fun with - like my boss! :p
