Breed: Labrador Retriever

Gender: Female

Color: black (although I may swing for chocolate or yellow...maybe)

Where from: I would LOVE to have a pup from a semi-local breeder. But...we'll see.

When: Who knows. Next year? Four years from now? *shrugs*

Goals:
Honestly....probably just a great family pet that I can do stupid pet tricks with and maybe dabble in rally/obedience/dock diving with if I have the time. All depends on a.) life and b.) where we're located.

How excited: I WANT A PUPPY. So, more like massive want right now vs actual excitement. I won't get excited until it is actually happen. No sense being all angsty about it when it may be 4-5 years.

...or, you know. A Sherman. If Abrams will stop being an asshat.

Breed: English Shepherd
Gender: Boy. I love boys
Color: I'm not picky, but I really want a pretty sable and white. Or another black and white. Maybe a tri or black & tan. But shaded sables are so pretty
Where from: I have a few ideas but it won't be for a long time, so no point planning things out yet
When: a few years. 3, 4, who knows
Goals: pet. Maybe I'll eventually get my little hobby farm for my herder-brains
How excited: I love puppies

I know several dogs from her, and they are absolutely wonderful.
Agreed!
**Note: As of currently, I am set on no particular breed, but their are some breeds I'm highly considering.**

Breed: Border Collie!Or, Sheltie!
Gender: Female (most likely.)
Sire/Dam: I'd love a BC from Creekside. As for the Sire/Dam, I don't have a clue, due to it being so far out.
When: 2017,at the very, very, very earliest. However, it is very unlikely I'll obtain a dog at that time. Most likely it'll be somewhere around 2019-2020(Maybe, later.) It's not soon enough. I have considered Fostering though. Which would be around 2017-2018.
Goals: I'd want be competitive Agility, and Disc dogs/Frisbee. Dock dogs sounds so fun
(Have to add.)

Color:
Border Collie
• Brindle Merle- Not likely, both
• Red Merle
• Black & White, with ticking

Sheltie:
• Bi-Blue
• Bi-Black
• Mahogany Sable

Where From: Border Collie: Creekside. As stated as before. Sheltie: N/A

How Excited: Not much at all. It's so far away.

Breed: Border Collie (probably)

Gender: Female

Color: Meh. SO wants B/W, I don't really care.

Where from: There are 2 BC rescues in the area. I've spoken with one of them and they get a lot of young BC who are great dogs, but people dump them there when they're too much.

When: SO doesn't want second dog until we move into a house. Which is probably smart. Our apt is pretty big but it would get crowded with another dog.

Goals: I'm not really interested in being really competitive in dog sports, but several of them sound fun to just dabble in. I would probably try several and she what she was into/what she's good at and then join a local club. There's an agility club not that far from my place and they seem like nice people. There's also an informal disc group not far away and disc seems REALLY fun.

How excited: I go threw fits and spurts... Sometimes I'm like "GOD YES PUPPY NOW", but most of the time it's just something that I'm generally looking forward to.

Some sort of herding type dog. I go back and forth a lot on breed, and if I want to go to breeder or shelter, puppy or young adult... eh. :)
I actually want to make a solid attempt at dabbling in sports, probably just disc and rally.

Time frame? Whenever I get a house... within the next year or 2??

I like this whole getting young adult/teenage dog thing. I'd love another puppy but to be honest a slightly older dog is so much easier with work and stuff. I think my next dog I'm likely to look for another 6 month - 1 1/2 year old. Seems like tons of dogs get rehomed at that age too.

Me too. While I've loved having Lola (moms new pup) around... god she's just SO young and everything is that much harder. I really enjoy being able to say "here, take your puppy" and giving her to my parents when I'm just done. :p I love her to death and she's actually overall an easy puppy but whew. Also little things, like I forget about having to wait for shots before going to public parks and pet stores and the like. I think in the future I want 5 months - 10 month range for new dog.

Definitely. Cajun was 14mos when we got her, and even though she wasn't housebroken and still needed a lot of training... it was just so much different from having a BABY puppy. She was maybe a bit older than I'd prefer since some things are just kind of part of her personality now, but overall it worked out reallyyyyy well.

Oh I'm the total opposite! I LOVE the little ones - razor teeth and all. I so enjoyed having Jari from the time he was born. I like getting to shape experiences and see them develop so much :D

*indiscriminate mumbling*

I want everything but I can't find the one that's really fit the puzzle piece space in my head so far.

I'd probably do well with a GSD, all things considered. They shed a lot but they don't have that wild long tangly hair that I don't like (well, most don't. I know there's a ton of variation).

Aussies are on my list too. I like MAS because they'd be easier for me to handle (imagining myself being dragged down the lane by an Aussie trying to power after a car or another loose dog and corral it). I like herders in general but the whole prone-to-reactivity thing is mlehh to me.

I've considered a variety of guardian breeds since I will feel and probably be safer with anything over 40lbs and more likely to step up than back down, there, but a majority of the ones that would fit me in some way majorly don't fit me another and with some, I just don't look forward to waking up to a dog that would be the toeing-the-line type. I want it to say, "Why yes I agree, and here's how we can improve" or "Why yes immediately," but "Oh? But why ma? Ehh I don't feel it" isn't really my cup of tea.

All I know is that NextDog will be male (Roxie doesn't eat boys even if they get grumpy at her- she will just get snarky. She can ignore girls, but will eat them if they irk her). Currently waffling between a retired Greyhound, Standard Poodle, or Mini Poodle. If I get a Poodle, it would probably be from a breeder (though I wouldn't turn down a lovely rescued Poodle). I love Standards, but Miniatures might be better size-wise for where I'm at with my life right now.

It's not gonna be happen for a while yet. I have SO MUCH puppy want though, lol. I'm also open to other breed ideas, though I'm definately leaning on the Greyhound side of the fence. I would appreciate an "easier" dog (temperament wise), but I also want a dog who'd got energy to burn. So yeah, idk. Lots of research and forum lurking going on right now.

As far as coloring goes- for a Grey, I don't care. I love all colored Greyhounds. Poodles though... NO silver/blue/grey, and ABSOLUTELY NOT to Parti or multiple colors.

Goals? Mostly just a pet dog, to dabble in sports with. Therapy work is also something I would love to do, and it would be great to have a dog to take to work with me (I work in a nursing home). So absolutely no dog-dog issues.

Breed: Sighthound
Gender: No care.
Colour: Lack of care.
Where from: breeder for sure. I'm not going through rescue.
When: 2016 at the earliest.
Goals: dog park dog. Fun grooming requirements.
How excited: Not. Moo has to pass away first. He's in pretty shitty health right now.

Eventually I want a Morado Dobe :)p) but I've decided that a Dobe will strain my relationship too much and a Sighthound will make me happy and not stress the BF. I've basically decided on a breed, but nothing's official.
We need to get puppies at the same time so they can grow up together and be sighthound BFFs.

Edit: Just read 2016 at earliest. Boo. Maybe next puppy :p

I was going to write my own reply but this is exactly what I want. Female black lab, I might be okay with an another color, from a semi-local breeder.. lol

I was kind of disappointed because I was totally planning on getting my puppy this year.. but things happen and it wasn't the right time. It's more likely that it will be when Duke is around 7-8 or so.
