This problem could be stemming from something that happened to him prior to when you got him. Alot of times, dogs will act strange in certain situations due to a traumatic event. If you could contact the previous owner, maybe that could shed some light on where the problem is coming from. If not, ask a vet, maybe he has a medical condition.

I think it would be great if you and your peke could enroll in some obedience classes. It is a great way to strengthen the bond between the two of you as well as have a trainer be there to show you the best ways to train your pup. Classes can also be alot of fun for both of you!:)

Only time, dedication & consistency in training will achieve the great results. Our furpals need confident guidance from us with lots of praise & love. Sometimes it is trial & error finding the right course to take to get the lightbulb to turn on in their brains and they know what you are looking for.

Perhaps if you give examples of exactly what he does in what stype of situation and how you have tried to fix it as well as how your furpal responded we might be able to give you some suggestions to try.:)

i will try to put it right . when we are outside he will allways look for kids people to pet him, and for other dogs and cats to play qith . when he does that i give him some time to get what he wants . i then tell him to move along and if refuses i try to pull him . i know if he resists the pull he want move anymore . and so i wait for him to wish to move. as a breed the are very willingful and stubborn .

I have to say that if he isn't listening to you after you have given him what he wants.................then personally i wouldn't give him what he wants.

Ahhh, I get the picture now! He is a very sociable guy who loves attention from those you meet while out on your walks whether it is people or other pets.

What I would do is work on heeling training sessions where there are no distractions. Once he gets very reliable with that you can start doing some sessions where there are a few distractions. As he gets better you can increase the amount of distractions. It is not uncommon for them to lose their attention to you around distractions especially in the beginning stages of training.

I would still recommend getting into some obedience classes as this is an ideal setting for a dog to learn to follow commands with distractions especially for those who don't have experience training. Right now he has trained you by knowing what to do to get what he wants and it's time to turn the tables on him and get him to do what you want.:) A qualified trainer can show you the right ways to achieve this.

Attention

hi there,
It could be nothing but then again? Your pooch might not be used to the attention of anyone other than the kids and other dogs. It therefore will ignore you as you are not in its social set.
Get yourself to its level and be the dominant one. Do not go soft on him like allowing him to move when he wants. The dog moves when YOU want period!

When he responds to you reward him. I a musing he as I can not remmeber if yu said the dog is M or F.

Obidience classes would be good but I would recommend some prelim work like getting the dog to know that you are as socialable to him as other dogs and kids.

Our dog wasn't keen on men when I met my girlfriend and I used this type of system as he was not to good with me. Now he won't leave me alone and is jealous of my love when we are together.

I hop ethis helps both you and your dog? Let hbim know you are there to be socialable and also that YOU are incharge not him.
