From Fort Washington, Maryland to Santa Fe, Texas, just southeast of Houston.

Linda (Filarotten) has the green light to adopt Dahlia. Now we just have to get Dahlia to her new home :)

I pulled up a map on Yahoo and it looks like the beginning of the route that makes the most sense is to hit I-81 down to Knoxville, then I-75 South, down through Chattanooga, to I-59 to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa down to Meridian, MS.

After that, depending on where people are, it can either pick up I-20 to Jackson, MI, then hang a turn south from there on I-55 until it intersects with I-10 on toward Santa Fe, or alternatively, stay on I-59 down to Gulfport, LA, then pick up I-10 there toward Santa Fe/Houston.

I could potentially do the first leg of it. Maybe from Fort Washington, MD to Gainesville/Hay Market, VA (or even Front Royal if it's necessary)? Heck, if one of the girls in the Manassas area can pick up a piece of it (Skittle, Nolu?) I can give you gas money...it's the time thing that is tight for me.

Fort Washington to Gainesville is an hour one way. To Front Royal it's 1:45 one way.

Sounds like the MD/VA leg is covered (and my car is too small) but if a stop over is needed, she can stay here for the night. I MIGHT be able to arrange a stopover in Danville, VA if you end up going that way.

I will get the exact address and phone number from the rescue person as soon as I can. He/she prefers front door pickup of Dahlia...if at all possible.

Thank you to everyone that is helping on the transport.
I have been trying to adopt a rescue fila for quite sometime so I am very excited at being able to get her.

Yeah, Ft. Washington isn't that far--it wouldn't be a problem to pick it up at the door. Is there a day/time for this? I work full time, so weekend is best, but I may be able to get away with a Friday.

Were in southern Va. We could potentially do a leg but I am not sure for definite yet.

Just to let everyone know I don't have internet access at the new house yet, right now I am using my mothers computer so I am not sure when I will get on Chaz next.

I can PM someone my cell number in case?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the rescue person as to the address, phone info, etc. I will post as soon as I hear something.

Got a response, finally! The town is actually Bryans Road, Maryland, I also got the house address to pick her up. Still don't have the phone number tho.

Bunny, can you maybe pick her up from CaliTerp and do the leg down to me in Bristol?

I don't like to ask, but I'll undoubtedly need help with gas, as I'd imagine some others will.

Let's get this thing rolling and get this puppy HOME.

That might be a bit hard to manage but I'll see what I can do.

Getting to Cali alone is going to be a three hour leg roughly.

From there Bristol is another 4-5 hours away depending. :(

Oh, now that's too much for one person, Bunny. We'll have to see if we can't fill in part of that!

Maybe Cali can meet you halfway.
If possible that would be great. If not then I will see what we can do.

If I am able to pick her up from Cali is the next leg in the trip still getting her to you in Bristol?

Sorry--I can go to Front Royal at the furthest. That's 3 1/2 hours and 180 miles to make the loop. Is this being advertised elsewhere? I don't think we can make the whole chain on Chaz.

Don't they have organizations that will help ship a pup on a plane? It sounds like that'd be more efficient (cost and time wise!)
