I have a 2yr old Maltese cross he is a very affectionate dog he loves a lot of attention from all the family especially my 29 yr old nephew but when my nephew spends a lot of time on his computer and doesn't give him the attention he looks for he sometimes looks sad he does get over it when my nephew gives him the attention sometimes when my nephew comes out of his room to get something and he looks for attention my nephew goes back to his room this is not constant he gets full attention from the rest of the family but he has a special bond with my nephew
