Who is the head of the body corporate has suggested we get rid of our dogs. I suggested he get rid of his fondness of breathing.

SO, we are moving away from this place at that spiteful old f@+k

Unless there is any sort of legal requirement that you signed BEFORE you got the place, stating that you cannot have dogs, it is illegal for them to insist you get rid of them.

^^ This. He is an unadulterated pain in the rear, complains about every little peep that comes from our side and we have had enough. We want a free standing house now!

I am all for not living near crazy neighbors. Growing up my parents had (well, still do have) a crazy neighbor and it just makes life difficult. They get the cops & EPA & any other government agency the man can get to listen to him called out on them regularly along with nasty/ridiculous letters.

The worst part is we believe that this man poisoned our last dog with rat poisoning and killed him, the current dog with rat poisoning 2 years later, but he survived & then earlier this year poisoned the current dog & my sister's dog who was visiting with anti-freeze. Sister's dog is fine because my parent's dog was diagnosed with it in the middle of the week so when her dog started acting weird the next weekend she rushed him straight to the vet clinic. My parent's dog wasn't so lucky and now has major kidney damage and is now on sub-q fluids every day/ever other day and now everytime my mom calls, I expect her to tell me he took a turn for the worse and they are putting him down.

My parents have put a fence around the house so the dogs can't get anywhere the property line with that neighbor.

Moral of the story, crazy neighbors are not something I take lightly. I do realize most neighbors are not as seriously screwed up as my parents neighbor, but they can make your life miserable.

I am worried about that exact situation. We moved here so the dogs could have a secure garden and I'm scared to leave them out. No point at all. I do plan to make his life hell from here on out though. :)

I wish I was a fly on the wall for that one.

He once knocked on my door and asked me to stop vacuuming at 2pm!!!

Totally agree that moving is in order. What an ass.

Time to poison proof any dog that lives in that house or visits often, and watch any visiting dogs VERY closely - possibly even go sof ar as to turn them out with a basket muzzle if you can't 100% supervise them. That's some scary ****.

My other OLD neighbour was in the vet this morning bitching about her cat and how it is in pain and needs to come to the vet but someone needs to go and get it for her because she can't bring it in blah blah blah. Um, you are here now, why didn't you bring the **** thing with you?

Sigh! I feel like I am living in an old age home!!!

The dogs are now much, much more closely supervised when outside and my parents put an underground fence in. The fence is about a few 100 feet from the neighbor's property line. Mom is upset they didn't install one years ago.

Ahh I see so it is more the "you're moving because you're sick of it" rather than "moving because we can't keep the dogs". I didn't absorb that properly from the first post.

We had awesome neighbours...She moved out...now she has renters that nearly burned our house down...We REFUSE to move from here as we just moved in and purchased this place we are at now, and pretty much the entire community dislikes them so hopefully they leave.

Goodluck house hunting!
