I'm so excited, that I have to share. Our 11 yo collie, Cody, died in November leaving 5 yo Bailey alone. He and I have been a little lonely. Young Bailey has elbow dysplasia with severe arthritis and can only walk short distances. He can't play with dogs who are too active because he gets hurt very easily. I have been feeling really bad that we can't get a new dog for those reasons, as well as the fact that our veterinary bills have been extremely high.

So I've decided to foster a healthy senior dog who can hang out with us and take longer walks with me, which Bailey can't do. For those of you who don't know, some rescues pay medical bills for their fostered dogs. So this makes it possible for me to foster an 11 yo healthy collie. Senior dogs generally have a harder time finding homes, so this is a perfect situation for us. Her name is Gucci and she's coming to us on Saturday. In time, she may find a home, but if not she can just hang out with us. Hopefully everything will go well, and if not, I'll be posting here to get help from experienced rescue people. Have a great day!

WONDERFUL to helping out by fostering a old dog in need, most people want young dogs and puppies first leaving the older dogs to have more chance of being put down. I am sorry for the loss of your dog, keep all the wonderful memories you have of the fallen loved one, keep alive in your mind, heart and soul. Maybe if this dog fits very well with your family you can do the big leap and be it's new home.
