I have asked almost all my other forums except this one!

So for those with more than one dog, do you leave them alone together?

I have 3 female pugs, and yes they have the run of the house together when no one is home. I've never had anything exciting happen, so basically this is a pretty uninteresting post lol.

We have always had multiple dogs we have always left them alone together.
We did wnd up with issues the last 18 months or so though that led to them being seperated when alone. Buster and Mac still ran together but were seperated from Harry and Sophie who ran together.

Sometimes. Mia is crated when I'm gone, Summer gets free run. The other three are left out together.

Not here. I could leave Ares and Morgan together when I'm not there, but it would be too stressful for the mals if the corgis were loose and they weren't, so everyone gets crated.

Schnauzers are left loose together. If the poodles didn't destroy things they'd be let loose with the schnauzers too.

Bulldogs = seperation

Though truthfully even when I didn't have bully breeds I separated when I wasn't around. Just seeing on a daily basis how quickly dogs can switch from play to something else, I refuse to chance a fight when I'm not home to break it up.

Mine are seperated, not because they need to be but because its its what we have always done. Peewee gets free roam and Ivan gets crated. At his age he probably doesn't need crated anymore but I would rather be safe than sorry. A bored Dal can create a whole lot of havoc in a short period of time.

Elle & Bella are left together and when I am at my parents Armani is with them as well.

So far Chloe has been crated since she is a puppy but since she just chewed through her second crate she will now be left alone with Armani!

Cider is left to free roam, Smudge is contained to my bedroom.

They keep graduating.. Last year Smudge was crated, Cider had my bedroom. She's proven to be trustworthy free now. Sometimes I contain both to the kitchen and family room.. but often other people are home when I do it.. I don't leave them that way when no one is here.

Sometimes. Kaylee still isn't trusted to not eat anything edible or not when left alone so most of the time she's crated but that's the only reason. Slowly she's been left uncrated if we're only gone for a short period of time.

If she didn't get into things when left too long her and Hannah would be alone. She's my stone cold dog and I really don't worry about a fight. Could happen but it's really not likely.

We used to leave our old BC with our old Golden and then with Hannah all the time, never had an issue.

But I know our dogs and everyone should make the decision based on that

I don't leave the dogs out together when I'm gone. One because he thinks all squirels are evil and will go through the window after one. The other because she does fight and doesn't stop until they are pulled apart. One dog can run and she will pursue. So, to make sure they are all safe, 2 are in crates and my most easy going couch potato is out in the living room where the 2 crates are.

Not as a general rule, but select dogs will be left in the yard (no fun toys, bones etc). Things like if someone is in heat, mood of the day etc all play into it. (if a girl is in heat less likely to put Snip otu with another boy.. even though Snip is fixed)

Maya and Murphy are crated, but when we board them they share a kennel. Since they can share the 6 X 6 room and their outdoor patio at the kennel, I'm sure they could be left out together at home if they were trustworthy. I have no doubt that I could completely trust Maya to be on her own, but she prefers her crate. I left her out of it one day, in the room where we keep them, only to come home and find her sleeping in the crate. Murphy on the other hand, is not even allowed out of the room we are in even when we are home. He has a knack for finding the one thing we forgot to pick up and eating it.

When we are not home Sarge , Luka and Heidi are crated and April and Rory are loose . Honestly they would most likely be fine I just feel better knowing they are safe in their crates and out of trouble .

When I had my 4 goldens they were free as well as the ones that I either boarded or was fostering . I never had a kennel before Ollie .
