Hey all!

I will be graduating in April (and officially done in June)! I am entertaining the idea of moving out of the state and moving West really intrigues me. I would love to live in a dog-friendly location, near mountains and/or amazing hiking trails.

Just in case it helps - somehow - I am obtaining my Elementary/Special Education certificates.

TIA!

If you don't mind tons of rain, Seattle and Portland are super dog friendly, near mountains AND beaches, tons of hiking trails, and I might be biased but I think the northwest is one of the most gorgeous places to live as well :)

I agree with everything said above. LOL. I live in Los Angeles, and it's ugly and dry here. I love the pacific northwest... ie: around Portland, OR or Seattle.

It seems like getting into various dog sports and clubs is easy if you live around Portland too. All the dog resources are there haha

Yup, Portland is the bomb.

I have this 6 blocks from my house (keep in mind I live smack dab in the middle of the city):

This hike is a 40 minute drive from Portland:

The beach is 2 hours away:

I went backpacking a couple weeks ago in the High Desert near Bend:

There's also this:

The mountains are also all very close, but I can't seem to find any pictures from the last time I was up on Mt. Hood.

And it's all dog-friendly. So if you don't mind a lot of rain, traffic, and hippies (I say that in the most loving way), Portland is a pretty perfect place.

Wow, never considered Seattle/Portland area. I actually know someone there and have some hippy-dippy tendencies myself. I'll definitely keep that in mind :)

I'll vouch for the Pacific Northwest, I used to live in Olympia and it was great, being there with a dog would have been better. ;)

Colorado is pretty nice too, I hear, and close to what you want.

If you're willing to move out of country, BC is a dog lovers heaven! I adore it there.

Otherwise I loved living in California. We were thirty minutes from the beach, an hour from the mountains, the weather was great...loved it.
