But nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooo! she needs it her way. Not only is she like this torwards me & my dad. but also to her mom and grandparents. gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Step families are always hard.

Step Back and take a Look........Maybe she feels the same way about you.

Since you are older, maybe you should take the first step to be a friend, maybe she will confide in you and change her attitude. And maybe your attitude will change for her too.

It sounds to me you both are jealous of each other, and are both acting in a childish way. There are better things to do with your time.

Maybe teach her how to walk your dog or something.

Or ask her to play a game or something.

Belt == Great tool in these situations.

NO/B] beating is not the answer

Worked for millions of people and apperantly everyone came out alright...

Like a few slaps of belt on the buttox would kill that baby  Next time she'll think twice before acting up.

Kids these days lack discipline, they do whatever they want because they know that their parents cant do anything to stop them.

Exactly!

Slapping someone with a belt is harder and hurts more than it does with bare hands. I was slapped once or twice when I was little and was VERY bad, but I do NOT think beating a child is the answer. It's stupid and it's wrong. Why do your "solutions" always seem to be aggressive, oriondw?

I've had the belt on me before. But, I would never EVER say I was beat. I think my whole life, I had like 5 or 6 well-deserved spankins. Flyswatter, belt, switch or hand. Whichever one was handy, is the one I got. But no, I was never beat. And I will do the same with my children. And, my parents only did it as a last resort. I got time-outs and go to your room all the time... But when it didn't work, a spankin would!

Hahahaaha!

It was used on me a lot when I was their age.

I used to not care about my grades, not care about anything- when I got that belt, I did. And then later, I learned why my dad went to such measures to make me make good grades and have good behavior.

It's the only way to get through to some people. It was for me. Time outs didn't work, that didn't do... anything to me.

I also don't believe in any of that... politically correct, hokey pokey where you give 'im a hug when they do something bad. That's why you see all these bad behaved kids or those kids where you have to call like a special baby sitter to teach 'em a lesson. Wasn't there a show on that?

I'll tell you what that mother needs to do something about that child now. She acts just like my stepsons act to EVERYONE and now my oldest who is 12 is getting in trouble with the law almost everyday and about to wind his butt up in prison. Those kids were never disciplined ever in their life. I think this little girl should get the belt ASAP (well next time she does something bad). I'm not suggesting beating but it does help a kid remember what will happen next time they misbehave when they can't sit down normal the rest of the day.

Exactly BigDog. There is a point where it can get taken too far, where the child cowers at the sight of their parent(s). But, when used in the correct manner, and at the right times, I see nothing wrong with it. And, I thank my parents for using those measures on me, because if they didn't, I would probably be a spoiled rotten snothead that got into trouble all the time.

Hello pot, this is the kettle... You are black.

reading these posts scare hell outa me

when a child is disciplined from a young age, they know their limits !
NO is a very powerfull word!

physical and mental abuse is carried with a child throughout their entire life!

I was never beaten, belted, or screamed at! and I turned out just fine!
