A few months ago we switched from Wellness to Eagle Pack. Both of my guys are doing wonderfully on it, the dry and the wet. When I was first deciding which brand to go for after Eagle Pack though, Solid Gold had been mentioned as one of the best brands. As of then, it was not available to me.

Well yesterday, at our pet store I saw it there! They started it carrying it about a week ago. I don't know if they have a wet food "line", but they don't have that. Just the dry.

Is it that much better than Eagle Pack to switch them to the dry but keep them on EP wet?

Or since they're both doing fine on Eagle Pack just leave a good thing?

I would leave them on Eagle Pack if they are doing so good on it. I asked a similar question when we got Holly and I was considering switching her to Solid Gold's large breed puppy formula. Mordy suggested switching if perhaps my dogs were allergic to common meats (chicken, lamb) because the Solid Gold has more unique meats (buffalo) they should be used if your dog is allergic to the more mainstream meat sources.
Here's a link to the Solid Gold question I asked and Mordy's response:

Thanks for the responses :)

My first thought was the same as yours showpug, Eagle Pack's a good brand and if they're doing well on it why switch.

But I wasn't sure if SG was THAT much better than EP, and if so I figured I would probably switch.

Thanks guys :D

I've tried Canidae, Innova, Solid Gold and Eagle Pack Holistic. They ate all of them well and were doing fine, but the one they seem to eat with gusto is Eagle Pack and they're doing wonderfully on it. I'll probably switch back to one of the other brands on occassion just to change it up a bit, but my main food will be Eagle Pack. The only downfall is that I have to order it online because no one carries it around here. Delivery fees are not that cheap.:(
