Miniature and Toy Dalmations

i think that these days quite a few people like paris hilton use dogs as fashion accesories, and something mini is gonna be easier to take around than a standard dalmation.
dalmations are beautiful dogs so people want them pocket sized.
but the question is when is small too small,
i mean there are people in the world who don't think that the chihuahua being the smallest dog in the world is small enough, now we have tea-cup chihuahuas.
people just don't realise about the health issues with such a small dog.

Just to comment on something Bubbatd said, miniature horses are actually a true breed, and a fairly old one at that. They're not a result of breeding little horses to little horses.
That said, i don't like the idea of miniature dalmations. And the dogs don't look very happy or healthy. If those photos are examples of they best dogs, what do the runts of the litters look like?

Someone asked me about something similar to this when I was working at a pets store. But they were refering to Shiba Inu's. They pronouced the name wrong so I didn't know what the heck they were talking about. I told them mini shiba's didn't exist. But they insisted they did. The description they gave matched that of a small shiba as well so I knew that they were talking about them. Then they told me that they wanted a mini rottie. I didn't even bother saying anything to them after that. What the point? They only hear what they want to hear, literally!

More mixes, more fools who pay a lots a mutt with a cute name...
It makes me mad to see those. I have nothing against mixed dogs, but it's really ****ed up how people pay high prices on mixes from parents that usually are not tested or anything...
In finland this thing isn't so usual that it seems to be in US, but just a few days ago I saw another ad on paper about mixed bichon frise - poodle puppies that cost 800 euros!! (about 850 dollars or something) For that price you get almost a 'real breed' dog from healthy parents, depents the breed of course, but the most common ones like Lapphund cost around 600 euros, so they are even cheaper than the mixes!

go figure This is just asking for trouble, on the link. Especially if onne of these puppies has a Doberman personality. This is really maddening that people mix Dobermans with other breeds and they don't even prepare the owner for what to do if the puppy is aggressive or is too much for the owner to handle. Doberman Pinchers were bred orriginally to be German Wardogs. This is getting really out of control. If you want a Doberman, or mix, you can get one from a shelter or aa responsible brreeder instead of this.
