Anyone ever hear of this?!

http://www.miniaturedalmatians.com/

At least they say this
, There is no breeding stock available. All pets must be spayed or neutered at the proper age (6-9 months). When proof of this procedure is supplied, a registration certificate from the American Breeders Club will be sent to you.
hmmm...
We have bred out deafness (1%), kidney problems (.5%), and aggressive behavior. All puppies have a 100% health guarantee (on delivery), however, the continued health of your pet is your responsibility.

At first I thought they must have mixed a smaller breed with their Dalmatian stock, but apparently they used two standard Dalmatians to start off their Mini Dalmatian program.

The Miniature and Toy Dalmatian was developed over 16 years using nine generations of AKC Standard Dalmatians

Their structure seems to have distinct differences (besides the size of course), and the spots don't seem very pronounced. I hope there wasn't a lot of inbreeding to make them smaller...
Cute, though. At least they have a spay/neuter policy. I wonder if they test eyes and hips..?
It's less scary than the miniature weimaraners I saw a couple years ago
What will they think of next??

is it possible that the smaller dog is the standard's puppy? I don't know, I'm just guessing.

Especailly with the internet, you never know. It's possible. The caption with that picture said 'comparing the standard to a toy'...

the toys still look a little...off though, if you ask me. If that's not a puppy it looks strange, not a very good specimen.

The coat and color of the minis and toys is horrible. "All of the characteristics and conformation of standard Dals" my butt!

Being a lover of Dalmations that sickens and disturbs me to no end. Though they look just like puppies and it would be great if it were just a hoax. But anything is possible today sadly. Poor overbred Dalamtions of todays world thanks alot hollywood and bybs.

I would perfer the standard Dalmation. Why do they want mini dalmationns or toy dalmations anyway? Is it just to make money? Or is there another reson? Dalmations are supposed to be a large breed and they should remain a large breed.

My guess would be the same reason there are Alaskan Klee Kai's. People like the look and personality of the standard, but can not house that size of a dog

I think there are plenty enough neurotic small dogs as it is, and if one of those don't suit your lifestyle, then maybe you should consider a larger dog, or reconsider even adding a dog to your life!
