Midwest Meet - Chicago area: Saturday, August 24th

3 hours, 37 minutes to go.

**knock on wood** that there's no emergencies. All the dogs of the northwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities, STAY SAFE TODAY.

I keep telling Crossbone (starting at 6:30 am) to go back to bed-- that he has a big day ahead of him and he won't listen :(

Somehow Squash stayed awake for almost the entire drive yesterday (!!) so after a couple of brief potty breaks and breakfast this morning he let me sleep in until a ridiculous hour (for us).

You're coming for brunch with Ashely and I right?

You're coming for brunch with Ashely and I right?

No, she kindly invited me but I brought along some work I need to get done and even though he seems determined to sleep all morning I'm a little anxious about leaving Squash alone in a hotel room for the first time right before the big shebang. I'm a big wimp.

Also, I ate breakfast before I got her message. :p

I am now home and totally had a TON OF FUN. Wish I could have stayed longer!!!!

This was awesome...

You are all fabulous!!!

We need to do this again! The dogs had a blast and the boy also enjoyed the experience.

Menchi is doing much better after a nice bath with soothing shampoo :)

Glad to hear Menchi is doing better!

And even though my friend thought I was weird dragging her along to meet a bunch of strangers from the internet at a dog park...she had fun, too, and said if we meet up again she wants to bring her dog along. :)

I have some (bad) cellphone pictures that I can put up tomorrow! They're mainly of my two, though. I wanted to take some pics to send to Mike since he missed all the fun. I'm sure everybody else has some better, more varied pictures. Lol

I uploaded some to my blog...

They are not nearly as awesome as what some of the other folk here produce, but they will do until Linds, Erin, and the others get to posting I hope.

One can find them here

Everyone was still going when I left to hit the hotel since I have a long drive starting early tomorrow. With said long drive I won't be getting pics up right away, but I thiiink I got some really neat ones, so when share when I get a chance! We had a GREAT time and I wish I could've stayed longer.

Snipe had a blast but is now lame - she blew a pad. :( Oh well, she's milking it and is fine unless I make her walk on rocks. She also just killed a small cricket in the room. >.< I'm sure she'll be aok with all the crate rest she'll be getting during our 12 hour drive tomorrow

I had so much fun!!! I'm so happy you all could make it, even if it was shorter stay for some than others. Great meeting all you people in person and all the dogs.

It was such a perfect group of dogs too, no issues, no fights, everyone got along which I find seriously impressive when we had a group of 9 or so dogs.

I have lots of pictures, hopefully I'll get them edited sometime Monday when I'm hanging around Sara's house!

Oh! And Beer Frisbee was played. And it was amazing. Though k9krazee's husband is scary in his throws.

We have another dog park trip tomorrow with Crossbone, Siri, Didgie, Seal and Crossbone!

This is totally going to be an annual thing so people, we'll get the date for next year and start taking work off now!

Ok seeing all the water pics I just know Cricket is unbelievably jealous.

I want to try to make it next year. Are you guys planning for same location or are you planning to mix it up a bit?

We're home, and I had so much fun! All the dogs were awesome, all the people were really awesome, and the park was really awesome!

I have a lot of chaff to sort through but will try to get some pictures up later today or tonight. I think I got at least one good picture of each dog. And five million of Squash. :p

Snipe had a blast but is now lame - she blew a pad. :(

When we got back to the hotel I realized Squash scurfed both of his rear paw pads, too, although he hasn't really been acting lame - just walking on his toes. I'm sure if he could talk he'd say it was worth it, though.

We made it home & crashed and just now started regaining consciousness! :D

Great time with a great group of people & dogs!! Couldn't have been better!!!!! :D Beer frisbee is pretty rad, too.

Thank you, Lindsey (and your dad!!!!!!!) for being great hosts, Sara for the PVC stop and everyone else for coming and having a good time!!!

I want to try to make it next year. Are you guys planning for same location or are you planning to mix it up a bit?

Same place, fo sho! We'll pick a date soon -- probably next June!

This was so much fun! I had a great time meeting everyone and their dogs! The park was amazing, all the dogs had a blast running around. We definitely need to make this an annual thing!
