My newest foster. A coworker told me she had a "friend" who was a "breeder" and had a puppy returned at 7 mos for some behavioral issues. I gave him some advice, but without seeing the problems first hand I couldn't do much. He asked if I would just take him and fix him and find him a good place to land. I obliged. Picked up "Jax" last Thursday and promptly took him on an adventure camping and discing all weekend - along with a name change to Sherman (Pow and Swift were also heavy contenders). New start, new name! (and it also fits in case I decide he's too precious to give up...) He was a friggin rockstar all weekend and made some great friends. Now the honeymoon phase is over and it's time for doggie bootcamp business. Wish us luck! :D

Who are you trying to kid with this "foster" language? We ALL know he's staying.

I love him.

Haha thank you all for the replies and comments.

He is not adoptable due to his issues, so at least until we get a handle on those (which are not found to have predictable triggers yet) he will be here. I'm sure it will be some time to reset his brain from whatever he was put through or learned from his previous family. Too bad there's no reset button! He is a very fun little dog and has been pleasant To live with otherwise! He could be a run traveling companion for sure.

So I really suck at updating threads like these and totally apologize - though most here are friends with me on facebook.

Sherman was with me for a couple of weeks, and then went to stay with a colleague for some training, where he met a wonderful lady that is also a professional trainer, and used to be involved in Frenchie rescue. She has some dutchies and whippets, I believe, and was smitten by him! I approved of her taking him home with her, where he's being spoiled as a demo dog for her classes, his new training is being upheld, and he has a few kids to play with, too!

I was ready to keep the fella when she popped up - and I couldn't say no. He would just be a fun companion here, and wouldn't get nearly as much one-one attention, so she was the best place for him! I cried - he's definitely the only foster I've ever gotten attached to this way - I think SaraB recently said it's the naughty ones that you fall in love with.

Saying goodbye to him.
