This is so funny. I laughed myself to tears before I even got past the first sentence.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A man has been charged with battery on a police officer for allegedly passing gas and fanning it toward a patrolman.

Givin the foul gas that beer-loaded men emit, I can't say I blame the officer for pressing charges. :rofl1:

This is hilariously disturbing. Abuse of power much? Then again, I guess it was a pretty bad assault on his nose!

The reason I don't laugh is that that is a SERIOUS charge . . . and a serious abuse of power. When intestinal gas becomes "assault on an officer" . . . oh, for Christssake, there's nothing I can say except its actually pretty scary. I'd like to laugh, but its actually . . . not funny. Theoretically, they want to send this man to jail for . . . farting at a cop. Wonderful.

However, as proof the world has not yet gone totally insane, the charges were dropped.

I wonder if they spoke to the officer at all...to tell him that what he did was outside the proper and intended use of his power? Somehow I doubt it!
