Personality wins hands down! I think a great personality MAKES a person attractive--you can see it in them. Rather than some "good looking" conceited fool---give me a good humored, caring guy any day! My hubby is not physically like the kind of guy I would find physically attractive on a superficial level--but he is oh so perfectly attractive because of who he is. I would not trade him for anything--and I'd take love over lust anyday!

I think that part of what makes a person attractive IS their personality. Even if some one is drop-dead gorgeous, if we don't click, or they make me uncomfortable, or they are boring, I would not be the least bit interested.

I am usually a very good judge of character, so I trust my instincts. ; )

I think I must be shallow, because looks are important to me.. In order for me to find out that someone has a great personality I have to be attracted enough to them in the first place to want to talk to them and get to know them.

I think my boyfriend is gorgeous... I might be in a minority, but there you go! LOL!

I have gone out with my fair share of models and wanna be models. All we hotties, all were gorgeous to look at, gorgeous to hold. But they were all conceited arses. I am now with an better then average looking guy (aside from the few extra pounds that appear to be catching) and I adore him! He treats me like a princess and I have never felt this safe. He is my prince charming.

Houndlover,

I lOVE LOVE LOVE Hugh Laurie! So...hot...

Honestly I don't find Brad Pit or Johny Depp attractive at all... I like guys with facial hair honestly.

I knew a guy who I really didn't like before that was not attractive in any way. After I got to know him and found out was an amazing person he was and how much I adored his personality his physical features became more attractive to me. I don't know. Looks can be deceiving... I know it sounds so cliche but its really true, "Beauty is only skin deep."

Well I don't know if I have an actual TYPE...

I've dated men that were complete opposites of my last b/f...

and while YES... looks are definitely what will normally make you approach someone you don't actually know. So I agree. If you don't know them then looks play an important factor.

With Brian... we actually met over the internet just by chance. So we talked A LOT before we ever saw each other. I mean we had seem some pictures of each other but that's not really the same lol. So I loved his personality long before we ever met face to face.

I'm single, buttt i'm in love with a "friend" and i may be completely delusional but i'm pretending in my head that it's gonna work out one day, so i'll do him.

Is your OH the ideal you had in your head? Did you have an ideal? How do they measure up? Does their personality over-shadow the fact that they aren't Brad Pitt/female equivilant
ummmm. i was 14 when i met him. so basically he's been the ideal i measured everyone else up to for the past four years. when i was 14 and first was attracted to him, did he look like the guys i had pictures of taped to my locker? Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger? No. Did i think he was HOT? Yes.
Does his personality over-shadow the fact he's not gorgeous? Well....i think he is gorgeous. He IS gorgeous. but i think this says a lot: coming from one of those stupid internet quizzes "are you really in love?". The question was "if this person gained a lot of weight would you still be attracted to them?". I thought about it for like four seconds before realizing, yes.i want to be with him when we're 80 years old. If that means he's fat and balding and has hair growing out of his nose and ears, fine.

Do you balance everything out? don't get this question!

Would you sacrifice one very good person, for a good one who you LUSTED after hugely? helllllll no. i think this is pretty telling: i'm almost 18 years old. i am a virgin. When i met Tyler 3.5 years ago, there was no way in hell i was ready to have sex. But between then and now, there have been a lot of people i probably would have fooled around with had i not met him. Because even though we're not together, and he has no business telling me who and what i can and can not do, i don't want him to think i'm immoral, or easy, or a bad person.
nowadays, i'll see someone really hot and think "ohmygod they're really hot". but then they start talking to me or if they start flirting with me, HE IS ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT. Does part of me want to get over him and just date someone else? probably. Is that going to happen? No. Not now, and until i'm sure it won't work out.

he knows i like him as more than a friend. i don't know if he knows that i'm in love with him.

welll. he lives in Michigan (about a three hour plan ride and ten hour drive). i haven't even see him in over a year :(. i'm going to see him in August though. When i told him i liked him, he said if i was closer things would be different. and honestly, right now, i don't want to be in a long-distance relationship.

Ok three

Is he with someone now
yes. i really, really, really doubt they'll last much longer. they actually moved in together, but she moved back out around a month later because it wasn't working out. when they started dating they were together all the time, now they're hardly ever together.

Seems a shame your life is on hold for this guy, and he is just getting along, doing his thing :(

Maybe my life is on hold, but i don't see it that way. Even if he wasn't in my life, dating wouldn't be a big part of the picture. I have my friends, my family, school, work, Milo. Yes, i miss him, but i don't dwell on it. Most of the time when i think about him, i'm smiling, not moping. Eventually, i figure, either it will work out or i'll move on.
