If you were going to pick a breed(s) by their looks only, no thinking about personality at ALL, what would they be?

What do you find most aesthetically pleasing?

Saluki's to me are one of the most gorgeous dogs ever. I think they are stunning, especially with heavy feathering

Long haired Whippets go along with this too, especially ones that look like Newton who I think is amazing

I think lurchers also make the most stunning dogs. Stole this from a FB group

My type seems to be very leggy, smooth coated (or with fringe)

I like Mals a lot too physically. Especially ones that look like Onyx, that dark dark face and overall color.

I very much appreciate the look of a nice looking APBT too.

And last, I gotta say Koolies. I feel like that's cheating but I really think they are one of the most gorgeous breeds.

Overall I like athletic builds, lean and leggy and lots of different coat colors but I lean towards the busy side of it. I also tend to like smooth and/or with feathers

I will always love the look of a husky. But Never Ever will have one again! I swear every time I see one, especially a puppy, I think well maybe... I like that they are independent. That's it. But that's not even something I like in a dog lol! I love Velcro dobes!

Drawn to Dobermans though to. Thinks it's how they are built. Same way I am drawn to horses. But they are the package deal for me.

Aesthetically, definitely Border Collies.

German Shepherd.
Ummm, can I just steal a photo of Patton?
I don't feel like going searching, so I'll just post a google image of a GSD I find stunning but I LOVE Patton AND Trent. And I know I'm missing a few others.

I definitely find a beauty in the Border Terriers as well. Different kind of beauty, but I find so many of them to be just... good looking dogs. I love the build, the scruff.

I think Huskies are gorgeous. I like the look of most of the wolfy looking spitz dogs but would never have one. I also LOVE the way koolies look. GSDs too but my uncle has one and OMG ALL THE SHEDDING.

The breed I own is pretty close to my aesthetic ideal. I like medium long feathered coats and broken color patterns, with a moderate build (not too heavy/muscular, not too lean). So pretty much all of the spaniels and some of the retrievers. I love a lot of the Dutch and European spanielly breeds that you don't see in the US (kooikers, stabyhoun, Dutch partridge dog, French spaniel, etc). I also love Aussies and English shepherds - traditional farm collie type dogs with a little fluff.

I usually don't love prick earred breeds, but I think tervurens are gorgeous.

And BMDs! I think they are adorable and I love the coloring.

It's tough to answer without subconsciously taking into account temperament and grooming and such. lol

I've been drawn to GSDs all my life. I had stuffed animals when I was little, K911 was my favorite movie as a child, etc. I also really liked the Border Collies. No wonder I ended up with those two, I guess?

Oh, fun thread!

Border Collies to me are beautiful. I love how graceful and quick they are. The eye.
From Jagger Williams Border Collies:

Koolies are freaking gorgeous, but Trav is definitely a fav followed very closely by Bazinga. I love a lean built dog like that, and their faces allow for so much expression.
Stolen from Linds. :D

It took me a little bit, but ACD's have really grown on me. I think they are gorgeous. I also like a really stocky, well muscular dog. I love an ACD head with small ears and a good stop. I do like both colors, btw, even though both these guys are red.
One of Tulsa's mom:

One from Corral West:

APBTs, AmStaffs, Boxers, and Vizslas are also some favorites aesthetically.

You beat me to it.

Salukis all the way! Soooo pretty!

Also Corgis. I don't think I could ever get a corgi, but they are just so cute from afar.

Just based on looks?

American Akita, heavy on the black:

Central Asian Ovcharka:

Spanish Mastiff (this would actually be my preferred LGD should I ever need one, so that may be realistic 10-15 years down the line):

A moderate Dogue de Bordeaux/Neapolitan Mastiff:

Don't ask me what those have in common, because I don't know.

I tend to be drawn to large, solid dogs. Heads with width and shape while not looking grossly overdone. Short, thick coats. Dogs that have power behind them, even if they don't look like they are marathon runners. Dark or dark w/ flashy coats. Unfortunately for me, most dogs that have those physical traits are unsuitable for me one way or the other. Guess that's why I ended up with a Chessie. :p They're pretty epic, too.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I used to house sit for one, and I actually adored his personality as well, although I don't know that they would be a good match for me long term. But looks wise, oh yes. I love redheaded animals in general, I love the coat length, the ears (one of the few breeds I really like drop ears in), the build.

Hands down there's no dog I love more than a well structured Border Collie.
Any colour, any coat type, as long as the structure is right and the markings are nice.

Beyond that though....

Working Kelpie

Koolie

Beauceron
Especially Wandering Spirit Vom Wildweg (Haunter)'s structure. Though I think I may like the harlequin pattern better - if for no other reason than I feel it would stave off the "Omg is that a Doberman Rottweiler mix?!"

Dutch Shepherd

And

Staffordshire Bull Terrier
For no other reason than d'Awwww

Overall, I like leggy, lean, pointy, and muscular - but not stocky.
I'm not overly picky on coat type - as long as it's a good "working" type (ie doesn't tend to hold too much dirt & grossness).
I tend to like merle or brindle coats, but a nice Irish spotting pattern in nearly any colour is great as well.

One single breed? Tervurens. For sure.

Border collies are second but I'm picky and some BCs are pretty homely. I tend to prefer middle of the road sporter collie types.

Also like some apbts (tried to autocorrect to pants! Like pants too)

That another breed I find StuNning.
