I have a 14 month old Border Collie bitch, she has developed a limp from her shoulder after rest. Originally the limp was caused from trauma after she fell off something however the limp did not start until after she had rested. After a weeks rest the limp seemed to go away all together. Then around 4 weeks after further trauma was caused to the leg whilst chasing a ball and her falling head over heels the front legs taking the impact. After resting this injury the limp came back yet again. After resting with the limp appearing to go away it returned with further heavy exercise.

The limp seems to occur only for a few steps after resting then appears back to 100% strength. There appears to be no pain what so ever after those few steps. The limp always comes from the same front shoulder.

Any advice?

take her to the vet...i think it´s probably some nerve or tendon...don´t believe it´s bone-damage, otherwise she would be in pain..

I took her to the vets today and the vet feels it would be more likely a tenden problem than a bone/joint problem as the dogs very active and has a smooth gaint.
