Thats pretty cool! Thanks for sharing :D

(Though I find it odd that Shakespeare's death mask was found in Darmstadt, Germany (My parents live just outside of Darmstadt). What was it doing there. ^^

It's boggling to me that they can look at a mask and determine the cause of death (or diseases, at least) in some of these.
That's what I though! Science is crazy.

And also, I was fascinated by them, and totally creeped out at the same time. Beethovens change was weird, almost like two different people

Aren't those fascinating? It's so amazing to be able to see how these people truly looked. Paintings are subject to interpretation but these are actual impressions from real life.

It's crazy to me how much people change after they die. I mean, before decomposing that is. When my great uncle died, the person in the coffin looked nothing like him. Weird.

ETA: No wonder those freakin' dummies are so creepy!! I hate how they have that weird smile. Now it's even creepier knowing the weird smile came off an unidentified dead person.

Decomposition actually begins as soon as someone dies. The bacteria in the intestines will eat its way out and then eat into the organs. The digestive enzymes spread throughout the body as well.

So, even if it doesn't look like the body is decomposing, there are many, many changes happening which do affect how the body looks.
