So, apparently a lot of members on here have either lied, left out details, etc. for fear of being attacked by other members (which is kind of funny because I think mostly everyone on here long-term has been attacked for something at some point).

Let's keep this thread 110% blame/name-calling/witch hunt free. If you all want to go and make separate threads about how irresponsible whatever action (not member, ACTION) is, cool. But I think it would be kind of neat/funny to have a thread where everyone owns up to the irresponsible pet-owner things they've done or say on here.

Personally? I fairly often mention that Milo was a pet store puppy my parents purchased for me for my 16th birthday, and I may have even said it was a surprise, but I actually did know about it beforehand and did not stop them from buying him, even though I knew better. (in my defense, I was extremely sick and medicated at the time).

OK: GO.

Really, I do not have Rosey. She is just this dog I know. Who has had 12 litters thus far, and is having another.

:rofl1:

Ok really, I honestly cannot think of anything

I'm with Jess though, I really can't remember lying about anything on Chaz. I've never seen the point. Even when my gramma had her oops litter I posted about it here. *shrugs*

Uhm. None? Since we're being totally honest here, I'm not quite sure what I think of a thread like this. Putting the focus on lying, laughing about. Just not sure.

I can't think of anything. Honestly.

ETA: I mean I think I've always been open about things. Nikki was a dog I picked from a BYB out of a newspaper. I picked her up at 5 weeks old and brought her home.

I've never lied on Chaz, but I have made some recent plans I have been wary of posting on here, because I'm not sure how they would be viewed. But since this thread is bashing free, and I'm kinda excited, I'll go ahead and tell!

Today was a good day, I got a better job than FOHA that will pay more. I have friends who are moving out of their apartment in the next month, and will be renting a townhouse, and I am going to room with them, and finally get away from my dad! Daisy, my fear-aggressive black lab, will be staying with my parents. I have spoken with my mom, and she agreed with me that it will be better for Daisy to stay in the home where she is most comfortable. My parents know how to handle her now to keep her and everyone safe, and it will be better for all involved if she is not brought to the townhouse where there will be 5 people living, and everyone's friends coming and going. There are some people (not here on Chaz) who would see it as me "abandoning" my dog with my parents when I move, but I'm not. If they want help with food or vet expenses, I will gladly contribute. I will not be getting any dogs for myself for a long time, even though I'll really want to. Middie may come over for visits, but I will have to see how that would work with a rental, if I'll have to pay a pet deposit for a visiting dog or not. :p

Yeah I can't think of anything, either. Not that I've fully-disclosed every aspect of my life or my dog keeping where I had the opportunity to, but I haven't lied and I don't think I've phrased things to mislead (at least not intentionally).

That is awesome, Sweet :D super glad you will be able to get away from your dad, and that you are looking forward to it!

Honestly, if I was to move out, Rosey would stay here. Not nice if she had to move out of the house she is used to.

Sweet, I left Milo with my parents because of his aggression issues and anxiety when I moved out, and I was bashed for it. Don't really care, I know I made the right choice for him and I know many here have done the same. But congrats on the new job and the move!!

I have never lied here that I can recall, never felt the need… I have debated posting some things at all though… Like Di's Oops… Did leave out the fact on the bird board that Kenny died from a heart attack….. which the avian vet figures was triggered by stress from our fire… I know it was not my fault, but did not feel like getting pounced on…

I was questioned a bit for leaving Nikki at home then going out and buying Summer, but I wouldn't say I was 'bashed' for it. I explained that it would have been very stressful on an elderly dog with CHF to move to college life and people seemed to accept it pretty easily. I see a big difference between questioning and being bashed. Jmo.

That's awesome news, Sweet! I'm really glad to hear that things are going so well for you recently; you are definitely deserving of it!

I can't think of anything I've lied about. I never saw a point. From the beginning I admitted to buying my first chihuahua out of a newspaper ad (honestly didn't know anything about breeders and just wanted a "pet" chihuahua). He was in a bin with cedar shavings and we felt guilty, so we bought him. We rehomed him because he didn't get along with Rylie and Chloe.

I don't see the point to this thread. Why is it funny to admit you were lying? I just don't see the point to lying.

Oh, wait. I guess I lied when I said that Jessie wanted me to take all her dogs home with me. And I guess I lied when I said that I am really an 86 year old man.

If you are not really an 86 year old man, don't even bother coming to visit. I am so disappointed now. :(

I don't see the point to this thread. Why is it funny to admit you were lying? I just don't see the point to lying.
I don't think it's funny to admit you're lying. I think it's funny that a whole handful of long time, respected (and most like respectable) members admitted to lying or avoiding sharing certain details in another thread, and thought it might be nice to have a thread where people could be honest without feeling threatened, because clearly that's not the way even long-time members feel about this board as a whole.

There have been a lot of questions/stories that I've refrained from posting because I didn't want to get jumped all over. I don't think I've ever lied, but I definitely don't share everything I do with Lucy, because I know a few specific people will find every opportunity possible to tell me I'm doing it "wrong", and it's just not worth the hassle.

Well, I don't think omitting is exactly the same thing... There are some things I won't really say unless through PM. Little bit different than making up stories imo.

I haven't lied about anything that I can think of. Lol not even really by ommission. I have been 'attacked' by members about things. But I have always taken that as a compliment :) My actions are not being ignored lol.

I was pounced on for rehoming Snip (who is very happy) and initially when I said I was a breeder.

I haven't not posted things due to worry about what people will say. I figure people are free to look, ignore, agree, or disagree with anything I have posted before. (well that is not true, I did ask to have a thread removed but it had nothing to do with chaz or any chaz members)
