I was wondering what colors go best on certain colored dogs.

I have a golden boy, a brindle boy, and now we're pending for a black pup. We're going to go collar shopping for the new pup and I have no idea what colors to look at! I want to start shopping online now! :)

So let's see those dogs (no matter what color!) and the color that looks best on them.

IMO any bright colour looks good on a black dog. The more vibrant the better.

Here's Rigby with her bright green collar:

And I like red on yellow/tan dogs

Leather looks good on any dog ;)

I tend to like fairly plain collars on "busily" marked dogs (merle, brindle, tricolor) and plain or busy collars on solid dogs.

Also tend to like contrasting colors -- any bright color on black, any bold color on white, opposite-ish end of the color wheel on a colored dog.

Just as general rules, anyway :)

You can always just get hairy dogs like I do so it doesn't matter. :p

Summer tends to be best in light purple, pink, light blue, or teal. I like red and black for Mia. Or bright purple. I do not like Mia in pink.

Pretty much my opinion, too. What I like best on Caleb is brown leather, black, bright orange and red. I just laid the noseband part of a royal blue & black braided headstall over his neck at TSC the other day, and that looked great, too.

Watson and I have the same color hair, so I just pick colors for him that I know will look good on me. Haha. I like blue, green, and teal on a red dog, I guess because they're on the opposite side of the color wheel. Purple works too though Watson doesn't have any purple things.

You can see his regular teal color in my sig.

Oh yeah, I like how hunter green looks on him, too.

I think I like hunter green and leather. I'm not too crazy about the bright colors, maybe because he's a schnauzer mix and he has a sophisticated look rather than a puppy face. Ahhh so complicated!

Have you gotten the fighting between your dogs under control/started crate and rotate?
Yes we have! :) We've been working on it with them and they haven't fought at all (not even scraps) in three months. We have them separated when we leave the house but when we're around, they do great together. Not even a wrong stare or any tension so I'm really glad. The puppy will also be separated and only with the other two for short periods of time.

I think exercise was the key because they are getting worked a lot more now and they have a lot less energy in the house. I'm also going to start them each with a sport (maybe puppy too!) since I finally have the money for it now. We wouldn't bring in a puppy to a chaotic home, and I'm confident about bringing him into the little "pack".
