So here are the pics i got of Raja the Koochi puppy. Hard to believe this little wigglebutt will grow up to be 110# of lanky wolf killing badass.

You mean a kuchi, the nomad dogs? If so you could be looking at a lot more than 110. If I remember right there like 90 to 170 according to the line.

i know what is said but most i have seen have been lean and lanky almost like a heavy lurcher with a meatier head. i like to use the spelling i did because it is phonetic and most people will pronounce it correctly. also some of the sedentary afghans have a heavier style of dog than the nomads. here they are not the same breed. only in western countries are the nomad dogs and the heavier mountain dogs the same breed.

Neat! What is the red paint/chalk on his head and shoulders?

Nice looking dog. What's the red on him and what's he eating? Just curious.

it's some red chalk they put on him for decoration. here they are more okay with decorating males in ways that wouldn't go over in western countries. men tuck flowers behind their ears & it's not gay or queer. so they decorated him with some red powdered chalk. he is eating naan, the local flatbread. they are generally fed leftovers from their meals, but meat is a small part of their diet due to expense so mostly bread. his evening meals are awesome right now because it is ramadan and they put on a great spread to break the fast in the evening. the dog is kept by our Afghan partner force and they treat him way better than i have ever see arabs treat dogs other than salehk. they show him a great deal of affection and touching. they find his puppy antics amusing.

First part was a question. Second was a statement. I am quite familiar with that region of the world.

Yes lines of breeding may have been a bad choice of wording, as no there not actually a purebred. As the dogs are bred as the breeder sees fit for his dogs outcome wise.

What I asked and said was not to offend.

I will be interested to see how this pup grows up. I had never heard of this type of dog. Very interesting about the red.

What are your plans with this pup (assuming this one will be yours)?

I love him! those feet are adorable. And Dekka, I don't think this pup is going home with Pops (too bad. I'd like to see him grow up).

one of the downfalls of the internet is you can't hear a persons tone of voice. I was not at all offended and was only trying to offer a greater context of information.

I wish he was going home with me, but the wife said i had a better chance at a second wife than bringing home a dog right now.
Initially I thought they intended to match him. however last night i broke Ramadan fast with them and in the course of conversation they expressed the intent to try to train him to find explosives and possibly help fight/find Taliban. I am maintaining communication with the commandan and hopefully will receive updates on his performance.
And i have already requested pricing from Emirates Air Cargo on the cost of flying an older pup from Kabul to the US.
