I will have to live vicariously through pictures!

I often say different stories as to where my dog came from as it's just easier then getting into the details fully. Yes, I did get him out of a backyard from neglectful owners, yet I know his breeders pretty well... It's easier usually to say he was a rescue than getting into the full story. Maybe it's like that?

Yes, that is one thing, but these two stories are totally different:

i call her a "rescue" because of the situation she came from, and my frined couldnt keep her, shes living in an apt and can only have 2 dogs and was at her max, ruby was the last one of the pups left through no fault of her own (the only puffer), and she was given to me on the premis that i would do SOMETHING special with her...
and special doesnt begin to describe her, she alerts to my seizures, runs a lure course like a whirlwind and is overall a wonderfull little girl.
Foxywench took in Ruby and her sister at the same time, and here's the background story when she first picked her up:

the cresties i got with the intention of only getting one, i got them from a friend whos had to go back to the uk imediatly(and didnt want to 6 motnh quarrentine) she got them from a high kill shelter. the idea was take in both and try to rehome one, if we dont find a home for one they both stay but if we can find a home for one all the better.

Oh no I get that. It's just I had full brothers, one from the breeder directly and one I took out of a yard when he was left alone with no one to care for him while is owners went on vacation. Given that people often ask why the heck I have so many stories I always assume others have the same reasoning behind the mix matched stories.

I understand the concern. I actually always thought Ruby was spayed. I always think service dogs are spayed or neutered.

I get exactly what you mean. Rory came from a responsible breeder, but he was a 5 month old puppy being rehomed so in a sense he was a "rescue." He wasn't a rescue in the traditional sense that he would've ever ended up in a shelter... as he could've been returned to his breeder at any time.

But Foxywench said that Ruby was the last puppy left in a litter and was given to her by a friend...

BUT initially she said that both Ruby AND her sister Gypsy were given to her because the owner who pulled them from a high kill shelter had to move overseas.

Just two very different stories... I can't see how they could be this mismatched and both be true.

well i flat out lied then, though im not sue where that first quote is from, youll see i whent back and put an edit to add in the link

everyone was quizzing me about having to rehome skye the dane, i panniked and made up a story...
unfortunatly i used to do that alot becuase quite frankly im a rather insecure person.

i actually owe alot to chaz for changing that within me, i realized through here that people will like or dislike me and theres little i can do to change that and that i should be myself, it took awhile to realize.

now...that all being said, while im sorry for almost 3 years ago lying about where ruby came from...its just that.
i wouldnt have been able to show her had she been from a shelter, and she would have been spayed befor comming to me if from a shelter because she was already 4 comming on 5 months when i got her.

now can we happy the thread back up cause if it continues to go into depressed mode, ill happily dog pile it and keep any additional details to myself and i wouldnt want to deny the wonderfull chaz peoples of nekkid puppy pictures.

Poor Rory. Sounds like what happened to Bandit. Shame too as Rory seems like as much of a gem as my Bandit. Hopefully she'll come in here and clear up the confusion.

*oops posted at the same time. There we go. My only real thought on the situation is I hope Ruby has an easy time delivering. Being pregnant myself I feel for that girl! At least I only have to pump one out. Heres to a quick and easy delivery for Miss Ruby.

That's just ridiculous. So if anyone asks any questions about this breeding the thread will be locked or deleted? Sounds like someone is hiding something...

people have quizzed breeders lots of times and the threads have never been dogpiled.

You bred your dogs, and people have the right to ask for the facts since this is a public message board.

Since both stories are so conflicting (so WAS the original story true? Is this one true? Who is Gypsy? What is the background on these dogs?).

I'm just not into the lying/conflicting stories and trying to decipher what is real and what isn't.

ETA: and it's terribly unfair to edit a thread THREE YEARS LATER.

Gypsy was the other Crestie. Ruby's sister.

She said she flat out lied THEN
so the most recent story is true

Oh, I guess that's all okay now.

I guess that doesn't mean that she is making up new excuses to justify a breeding that occured to be safe from a label of "backyard breeder."

I think Jessie was asking who Gypsy is because foxy said(the new story) that Ruby was the last of the litter. So in that case, Gypsy shouldn't exist.

Actually, what confused me the most is that Ruby's story sounds EXACTLY like Jasper's story. Like to the T. I wasn't here when foxy got Ruby, so I don't know anything about her... but I was her for Jasper's.

I like Foxy, and she gives good advice... but I'll have to say I'm def confused now.

no the original story wasnt true, and gypsy was a frineds poodle mix not a crested though i gues i thoruhg tbetter to say id "rescued" 2...

and yes ruby did come from almost the exact situation as jasper, only jasper was the only survivor after being tossed and his father had to be pts because hed been kicked so hard in the testicals/groin it had ruptured.

ruby was, however, when first came to me rehomed for a short period and came back to me which is when i then fell in love.

long to short, hope that will do cause its all i got.

Rory's previous owners were actually really good dog owners... he went through a couple of obedience classes before we 'adopted' him. The husband was allergic to Rory and just couldn't keep him.

All I know is that they are sisters. I was just clearing that up incase Foxy isn't back in here right away. I have no idea if she's older, younger, from the same litter. I am just going off my memory. :p

No, It doesn't make it all okay

I just dont feel the need to bash her for something that has already happened. The dogs already bred, theres nothing we can do about it

atleast mom and future puppies will be well cared for with good homes.

I can complain about it all day long, but its already done. Might as well make the best out of the situation and help her along with advice/support

Nobody is saying she isn't a BYB.. It is what it is, 2 pet dogs, an accident happened.

as for WHERE both dogs came from. I have no idea.. I really don't remember the stories before. I thought they were both breeder rehomes

I was here for both conflicting stories. I've noticed a good bit of conflicting stories but this one really, really stood out for me.

I thought Jasper was from a breeder on puppyfind.com?

If Jasper's siblings died, why were they all listed online with him?
