So let me see if I have this right... if you do something silly when you are 5... instead of being understanding and forgiving... which according to some book called the bible, Jesus was that kind of guy... he's going to condem you to an eternity of pain and suffering?
Makes perfect sence to me.

Why don't you just tell the kid that monsters live in his closet and that they are going to jump out and eat him if he doesn't clean his room while you're at it.

Oh and the Easter Bunny will still come if you don't do your homework, but one of the eggs will be poinsoned!

Makes me glad my parents had enough common sence NOT to use pathetic scare tactics like that.

I feel gypped. All I got was the occasional "wait until your father gets home", by which we knew we were in for double-trouble, since Mom had no problem doling out punishments herself...the dad threat was to shut us up so we'd quit crying about it.

Didn't happen often, mind you, but effective when it did.

I may have not agreed with my mom for punishment, but she never had to rely on making Jesus take the fall. she handled all situations herself. kudos to her. silly parents that have to make anyone be the firm hand besides themselves. Zoomers, I'm cool with how your mom handled problems...but to those moms that totally rely on the 'wait til dad comes home'......they make me want to barf, too. WEAK parenting..again. it isn't Jesus..or any other figure......it's YOU that expects the child to behave. geez......still finding it ridiculous. lol

LOL I like that idea. First I will punish you and then because your father is an equal partner in this parenting deal HE will find out and he will also deal with you how he sees fit :D
