I don't know

I am guilty of the same sometimes so I guess I shouldn't talk. I am guilty of looking at a less than ideal situation and putting my own personal spin on it because I have not had to make too many big decisions (except for one and I am always defending that to the death)

but I can think of a thread for most people in THIS thread where they have made a less than ideal decision and have been attacked in the same way and have DEFENDED Themselves the same way... yet they condemn someone else for making a mistake.

like I said I am also guilty of this... it's hard not to judge or say "=I would do this you suck".... but we are ALL WRONG. if you have never made a mistake then feel free to judge... but NONE of us are free from mistake. we have all made some really bad decisions.

I just don't believe we should be forever condemned because of them. perhaps we should be momentarily spanked for them... but to never EVER be allowed to come back without the constant ridicule... it's stupid. Get OVER yourselves.

only because we were able to buy a home after we had the dogs... had we not been able to buy a home and had to leave our old home... there aren't many apartments here that allow TWO large dogs... but we would have moved whereever nessecary if it meant having a place to live or NOT having a place to live witha child

again... easy to say when it's just you :)
But you would have either put the dogs with friends, or got help from chaz, first, not just go down and dump them off at a shelter right off.

She moved into a place that she knew he was not allowed in, with out any other plan for him at all. and that was before all the drama happened too.

There's nothing wrong with not having a backup plan unless you are not suppose to have the dog where you are living. That is just dumb.

Also easy to say my butt.

Edit/

And the moving on bit, yeah she can move on whenever she wants, no one says she can't, but right now, if she got back with her SO, she's going backwards. That guy is nothing but trouble.

That being said, I will do anything to protect my dog, she IS my child. and some of you know exactly what I mean.

I am not bashing anyone for making a mistake - we all do. I find it hard to tolerate someone changing the facts when they are readily available for proof. The OP is opening herself up to criticism by doing so. Makes no difference what the topic is - you cannot simply change the facts.

I dont know reggin, But ive read her threads.. I think It would Be alot easier to Forgive and forget in this situation, But it honeslty Seems like she was just making excuses and not trying.

That Is JMO.. And I dont need to have children to understand. But if it seemed like she tried at all, I would feel a little bad for her... Yes Life gets Sh*tty sometimes. To the point where its downright unmanagable. But you work to protect EVERYTHING in that life. I think that includes the four legged family members. I dont think she was actually at the point where she had absolutely No other choice. I could understand it then. But I just dont see it.

Well...

you;ll get over it

Ok so she came to use on the 16th and arrangements started then... and she stated clearly that she didnt have constant internet capabilities... she had to go to her moms. so plans started THAT DAY and he went the next day? so ... what were you expecting? the internet fairy to appear at her door and tell her?

she was abused, pregnant, a mother and SCARED.

sorry... with my children at risk... my dogs would be a second thought. and you know what? I would take solace in knowing that I did what I could for my children even though I didn't put my whole self out there for my dog. I lvoe my dogs... but my WHOLE self needs to go to my child. s orry.
She posted on Monday and he left Wednesday. She was connecting to the internet and responding to the thread. Not the ideal notice, but enough time to keep him out of the shelter.

I'll now keep out of the thread.

well... you all know how I feel.

If the sh!t hit the fan I would make whatever rash decision needed to be made to protect myself and Hannah... the dogs would honestly be a second thought and even if I had months of notice I don't have ANYONE to take the dogs... PERIOD. so they would end up at the shelter. sorry if you don't like it but that's life sometimes. actually beezer would be put down becasue he couldn't handle it. belle would go anywhere.

but if push came to shove I couldn't sit and wait around for people to decide who and what and when and where.

I hope and PRAY I never get put into a situation like that... and you all should too.

but my DAUGHTER comes FIRST by a LOOOOOOOOONG shot.

again... it's easy to sit behind our computers and judge when we aren't the ones that have to make the decisions... when we are just th ones who say "Oh I hope you can find a home... good luck" yeah... tough life.

otherwise... I'm done. people aren't every going to drop it... EVER. and I hope reggin can just ignore those people and move on even if it means moving on in a way those people don't approve of.

agreed

GEE I can't IMAGINE why she thought people here wouldn't help. LOL what a shocker.

this place can be so helpful but at the same time it can be so damning and judgemental that I'm not sure I would really count on many to really take care of my dogs. there are a few maybe... but not many I would trust that way.

Bold above. People had dropped it - Reggin posted this thread and I don't know why she would open old wounds. Nothing can be gained by doing this.

Okay seriously Sparks.. while a horrible situation she was living with her mother (safe place..) and that is the reason reggin went to the shelter because he could not stay at her mothers with her. Goodness.

Now I am really out. However I felt that that needed to be pointed out.

Ditto Sparks 100%.

The past is the past. There is NO point in digging up old threads and saying she could have done this and that or nitpicking the date things happened on. It's not going to change what happened so why does it need to be rehashed over and over again?

It doesn't matter if she had a million options presented to her. Her children are far more important than her dogs IMO and I don't think she can be faulted for doing what she did. I can understand the initial anger and hurt--I was upset about it at first too--but at some point the issue needs to be moved on from.

Gee, I dont know why she would come here for help either? Maybe because just about EVERYBODY offered some way of help. Weather it be contacts or just info that would HELP!

I would also like to remind some of you that SHE brought this up.. I still dont understand why Us that dont agreee with her decisions should Shut up, and not speak our minds. While the rest can throw her a pity party she was hoping for when she opened this thread.

Excuse me, if you are referring to me as nitpicking regarding dates. She has returned and stated her reasons for her actions were due to time issues. This is untrue - very simple. If you wish to ignore the dates then feel free to believe this new version. Her initial post is not honest. If she wishes to clear matters up, please keep the facts straight. They cannot be changed to absolve guilt.
