Oh, great. These were posted recently on a local forum, along with several other anecdotes. I know they've got to be total BS, but . . .

I'm taking care of a friend's animals why she and her family are away -- the kennel of Rat Terriers, the 6 dogs in the house, an African Grey, fish, and three horses. I'd been feeding the horses in the evening.

The other night Mark rode up there with me. He'd already gotten back in the truck, but I remembered I'd left something out, so went to get it and put it in the house. Just as I got back to the truck I heard an animal call that I couldn't recognize. He was in the truck and the radio was on so he didn't hear it.

And these stories are about the exact area where I'm mucking around in the dark . . . back in a remote holler . . . I wouldn't care if I could have Kharma out with me, but I doubt she'd put up with the adolescent Great Dane bitch's antics for two seconds.

They don't get back until Saturday. Until then I think I'll feed the horses and take care of the kennel in the mornings!

A very strange animal has been seen in the farming community located above Morristown around the outer edges of Whitesburg mainly in around where farmers have large acreages of land. This is not a joke, nor just a spooky story to try to scare people.
I personally have spoken with 3 people who have seen some kind of animal walking upright and covered with a dark colored hair. They claimed that it has been seen mainly in the fields of the farmlands.,out walking around, mainly at night. One lady toldme that it ran across in front of her car and jumped into some woods across the road from the field in which it emerged. Now I like most of you am not easily scared, and I would like to see this thing which appears to have some folks apprehensive to get out on their farms at night.

Another sighting has claimed that a woman and her fellow had taken a four wheel drive truck down into this thicket are in a field to do some four wheeling, apparently the truck had something happen to it where it would not start and when the guy left to go get help[,the woman who stayed behind in the truck, claims she heard some rustling sounds coming from the thicket, then saw this upright walking creature walk out in front of the truck making a strange unusual sound then ran off into the thick brush.

She claimed it was around 5 to 6 feet in height, covered with a thick dark colored hair all over it.I have also spoken with her personally and she appears to be telling the truth because when she tells the story she seems scared to death and starts trembling and shaking from it.
I really don't know what to think of these weird stories, but apparently these people have saw something or think they have saw something.

Me and some of my friends have obtained permission from a local farmer who owns around 105 acres,to stay in an old barn situated out in an open large field. In hopes of catching a glimpse of it.One of our friends has a night vision camera and most of will be armed also,so I would advise against anyone who finds out about this trying to scare us because we will have guns with us.

Has anyone else heard about this or want to add anything to it please do.We are very serious about any information of such occurrences and really don't want to hear about anything bogus or stupid, please.Thank You for any information posted on here.
Yes last year me and my son were hunting out off of stagecoach rd in whitesburg on a buddys land about 10:30 we were sitting talking when up over the ridge we saw a large shadow lumbering slowly in the distance. We sat silently and watched as it would walk on all fours sniffing for tracks or something then go back to standing on two legs like it was looking for something at 1st I was shocked but I looked over at my son who was shaking and crying and suddenly I felt his fear. Knowing that we were a good 1/2 mile from the truck I started thinking it's ok I have ammo if I have to shoot we should be fine. Now I just wanted to calm my son down but deep inside I was frightened. My son kept saying dad I gotta pee I gotta pee I was saying just be quiet and hold it. Again he or whatever it was is up on the ridge a good 3 to 400yds away just lurking around sniffing on all fours then popping up like a grizzly and looking off in the distance. We were whispering so I don't think it's hearing was that good but all of a sudden I heard water and said what the hell is that and my son pissed his pants crying dad I'm scared suddenly the creature let out a sorta howl like a peecock and a bobcat screech mix just telling this sends shivers up my back as I'm typing this. Well whatever it was it's sense of smell must be uncanny I truly believe it smelled **** because it came down on all fours in a straight out sprint right at us I immediatly fired a couple of rounds but I shoulda saved it till he got closer it suddenly cut left into a treeline and we hauled ass outta there but I knew we couldn't outrun whatever it was so after a quick sprint we slowed down to a walk with the tree line on our right and open field on our left we could hear something tracking us off to our right and I would fire off a shot and listen then walk some more I would hear the peecock bobcat like screech after every shot it felt like forever to get out of there. To this day I have not been back in those woods or any for that matter after dark and I never will. So there is something and good luck guys but be careful I would not do it.

strange, for the height and "shape" id say a bear...
for the description of the "scream" id say a fisher cat (their cry is often decribed as a woman or child screaming "help" in the distance...

hmm...
as a "together" its nothing im familiar with off the top of my head...
spooky.

Well this is what it sounded like anyways we think it is a young screech owls or adult screech owls. But we have never seen the animal making the sound. But it always scares the crap outa me everytime.

The sound I heard was downright melodic. Think of what a wild turkey would sound like through mammal lungs in a large chest cavity, with differentiated notes, not repeating.

I fed the horses and the kenneled dogs this morning and just parked next to the house (with Kharma in the truck) tonight and fed African Grey and the house dogs and let the dogs run in the well lit yard.

I'm not terribly worried about running up on anything with Kharma next to me, but with her in the truck . . . and there's not a dog there that would be a bit of help. The little Rat Terriers would give it their best shot, but they're too small to do much. That beautiful Dane girl would be totally useless, lol.

Odd! But given the accounts, I personally think it sounds like a person playing a joke. The height is right for a human. It's not behaving like an animal to me....it's like this thing is *trying* to be seen. I can't think of a single elusive wild creature that would go deliberately dashing out in front of noisy vehicles and make noises at it. An animal is far more likely to be fearful and be very careful to avoid such things...especially since *if* this is a previously-unheard-of-creature, living in a populated area without being seen previously, it must obviously be good at keeping away from people. Hiker getting a fleeting glimpse of an upright animal fleeing through the woods? I could see that. But people crashing around on a four-wheeler seeing something hairy jump out in front of the vehicle? Then, said creature stops and make noises at them before fleeing? Umm...no. An animal would have heard them and been gone long before they every got a glimpse.

I think I'd be more inclined to think "odd wild animal" if the thing wasn't human height, and seen around people being their noisiest/most obvious. So yeah. I'd say prankster.

My first thought was a bear. We get an odd rogue bear from time to time that's lost fear. The vocalization I heard sounded like it would have come from a bear sized chest.

I got Kharma out with me to open and close the gates last night. She was uneasy at one of them.

I don't doubt that there are people out there pranking. Anytime there's a "sighting" of anything different it brings out the jokers. Heck, my dad's cousin was the Mothman!

I have heard 3 seperate unconnected people tell me about a sighting here of something 5-6 feet high white, and jumps like a kangaroo. I kid you not.

Yup I would do my animal chores in the morning.

Well, I am done with it. Dina and her family got back in last night around midnight. It really was wearing me out.

I had to do some "carpentry" work twice to keep Fanny in the kitchen  She really is a ditzy Dane.

After checking with Dina to make sure it was okay, I took a bucket of RMBs up there and gave them out to the dogs. It was hysterical to see Todd, the little blue and white Rat Terrier, tackling a bone that was bigger than himself.

I'll have to confess that Jr., the black Aussie, is my favorite, although I came perilously close to stealing the little red and white Rattie . . . but he's going to a great home in Ohio in about a month. His new mom is going to finish him -- he's already over halfway to his Ch., and I know why; not only is he striking looking, but he's Mr. Personality. When I'd go out to feed him, he'd jump higher and do it with this big, silly, toothy grin on his face, wriggling like a maniac.

You wouldn't "hear" anything if his kid peed his pants, right? Or does he mean he heard water and then his son pissed his pants? What made the sudden sound of water....the bear or whatever it was?

Those are some freaky stories though.

Dober, I think what he meant was that the water he heard was his son pissing himself, lol.

Evidently there have been similar stories here for decades.

Might make an interesting short story -- or a set of chapters . . . hmmm . . . .

But see....this is why I doubt the whole story. As the author is painting a colorful (probably fiction) story, he gets something wrong. And that is that if someone pees their pants, it would not likely be audible. The fabric would absorb any sound. It would not be like if someone pees onto something from a distance, as onto the ground or in a toilet. It's not dropping onto something. So, since he got that part wrong in his story telling, it makes me doubt the whole thing.:rofl1:
