Ripley: No. He has zero tolerance for any kind of snarky behaviour in dogs he doesn't live with, and he can have male/male issues. I do take him occassionally to one of our really big parks where we rarely run into anyone and I leash him when I see another dog that doesn't look Ripley-approved. It's kind of made his leash reactivity a bit worse, but oh well. He needs to run once in a while too.

Dance: Not really. She's not really a doggy dog. She much prefers her human friends. I take her to parks that are more like a long walk or hike where you probably won't run into many dogs. She's fine with that. But big groups of playful, rambunctious dogs would result in a very angry Toller.

Journey: Yes. She's friendly with pretty well all dogs and while she can be rude with her friends, she doesn't play the same way with strange dogs. That said, I still don't take her to dog parks that are heavily populated. Like the above two dogs, I myself prefer the parks that are basically a long off leash hike/nature walk. I don't trust others and their dogs, even if Journ would happily play with everyone.

Kimma used to be, but as she has gotten older her desire to play with other dogs has decreased significantly. Same with Jari. They both would much rather roam around and sniff than interact with most dogs.

Bubbles would rather see people than dogs, so no, not really.

I should note though that all the dog parks near me are small little fenced in areas. No nice ones with trails like I've seen mentioned in threads like this before. I'm jealous :p

Brooks has bits, so this apparently means other dogs want to either hump him or slam him to the ground and not let him up, so no parks for him. He mainly wants to run anyway, so we just go to areas where he can do that

Mia and Summer are definitely not. Too small and hate other dogs.

So far Hank is pretty perfect. He can be over zealous with tiny dogs but overall is very nice and submissive with other dogs. He had a ba run in with a couple greyhounds so we leave if they show up but overall he plays nicely with other dogs. He is a bit small so I do try not to being him at peak hours. Too rough for small dogs and smaller than most dogs on the big dog side.

Wesley is definitely a dog park dog, he loves it.

Feist, while fine with it, doesn't really love it so I don't take her.

Basically this.
Minus the balls (although I'm sure they started the problem when they were around)

Merlin has a great time at the dog park
....the problem is that he pisses everyone off.

So no, no dog parks for us unless they are empty or much bigger/trail like with less kind of clusters of forced play
We fall under here too. Herder problems. LOL. Also, while Muffin greatly enjoys being a jerk to everyone else, he has a problem being on the receiving end of jerk dogs.... So yeah. We tend to all around like play dates with known dogs better.

Gimmick loves the dog park. Room for him to really stretch out and run, and then the other dogs chase him, which is even better. The best days, though, are when mom overlooks a mud puddle and he can wallow. He is intact, but 99% of dogs leave him alone.

Gambit is....Gambit. He shrieks with joy if you say dog park, and is thrilled right up until we get there. Then its a few laps and perma bitchface until we leave. He doesn't play with strange dogs, so I just take him to get him around the people

Yea, if we didn't have the amazing park we have nearby, I'd never go to one of the wee Thunderdomes. I'm very fortunate.

I prefer off leash trail type parks. Kili will often find a good playmate and we'll walk together for awhile and let them play. She's funny though. She'll have days when she is all "OMG another dog! Play play play!" and the very next day she's kind of like "OMG another dog! It's going to eat me!" and will act completely terrified for the first couple of minutes. She is so odd sometimes.

Summit is not a dog park dog. He is grumpy about being bumped now that he's old. And when he does try to run and play he gets competitive? Or maybe just doesn't understand that he is not doing the same thing as other dogs, in the sense that growling and barking is not the same as growling and barking. But I do take him when I take Kili. He generally does his own thing (sniffing and marking) and he listens well if I redirect him or call him off from giving chase. The only thing I have to watch is huskies. Because all huskies must die. We leash and leave the second a husky appears.

Definitely not.

She doesn't really enjoy playing with other dogs, and can get a little snarky when another dog is being rude to her. She also feels the need micro-manage the other dogs if they are getting too rough. While I don't think she would ever START a fight, she would definitely finish one.

Nope! Not a single one, really, except Shambles. Dude lives to meet dogs and play, but between being occasionally bullied by neutered males and the shitty remarks regarding his balls I got quickly tired of the dog park. The boarding facility/daycare I work at allows me the special privilege of bringing him despite that they require all dogs to be altered, he can rarely come because we have a few regulars that don't love him. It's a shame because he's perfect with any dog he meets.

Elsa would eat dog's faces, Jonas has no interest in interacting and would snark if another dog bothered him for too long (his definition of "bother" is pretty up tight. :p ) Magpie and Jack are old and just not too interested in group play, and Smalls shocked me by having miserable times at the park. She loves other dogs, but she wants to do her own thing and snarked at dogs that tried to solicit play too many times.

NOPE! lol Charlotte is fearful and will freak out and attack any dog that gets rude and pushy, and Ma'ii is to much of a socially awkward humping bully and aggressive towards other intact males. Though honestly, I think knowing what I know now about dog parks, even if they were fine with strange dogs, I'd still choose not to go. The national forest trails provide a far better experience for them to run and play on, and we'll be buying 5 acres of land in the new year up near the Grand Canyon, so they will always have a place to run that's just theirs.

Sort of? He generally loves other dogs and loves to play, and has good play skills. I won't take him to a dog park though because he's intact and other males sometimes have an issue with that. But in general, yes, his temperament is pretty dog park appropriate overall.

I don't go to regular dog parks often. I do love taking the dogs to the giant fenced dog park in St Paul though.

Buzz and Bailey used to go there pretty frequently just to run. Not to play with other dogs. I've taken Gabby a few times and she does fine.

All our dog parks are the tiny thunderdomes, but I work at a cage-free daycare and boarding place and bring Briz pretty frequently so he can swim in the bone-shaped pool. Very occasionally he will play with another super-grump and surprise everyone.

Another reason I avoid dog parka is because Brisbane hates pugs.

Never been. Ryker is intact so I wouldn't take him to a dog park. He loves dogs and is fine with meeting dogs on walks so I'm sure he would enjoy an actual dog park, but I don't really see any reason why I would ever bring him to one.

Gypsy can't even look at another dog without tweaking, so no.

All my dogs are dog beach dogs. And by dog beach, I mean the dog beach we have here which is like 4 miles of empty beach where you might see 10-15 dogs at the height of season and maybe two off season. I do leash Pike and Olivia when we pass by other dogs, but Nola will heel and ignore.

Nola isn't a dog park dog. Maybe if it was a small group of all males, but mostly no.

Pike is not. At all. He gets so stressed.

Olivia probably would be but I don't enjoy dog parks do we've never gone.

My two little Yorkies seem to love to go to our local dog park. Typically, there's not many people there, so we like to go and they love the smells and the squirrels. Since they're so small I prefer to harness them, even though it's an off-leash dog park.

Haven't taken them to a beach yet, since I'm not sure if there are any around here that accept dogs.
